Once again, have to disagree. Three eggs and bacon/ham/spam/other meat, in REAL BUTTER, every day. REAL CREAM (heavy whipping cream). Steak, chicken, fish, pork. I don't trim fat. I eat chicken skin (don't smoke, drink, do drugs or sleep around...I deserve some fun, ya know?).

Since doing that, my cholesterol went DOWN by a third, blood pressure dropped, blood sugar levels A-OK, and I'm 40 pounds lighter and falling.

I'm eating fat, and I'm not getting fat. I'm eating cholesterol, and I don't have higher cholesterol. What's the problem here?

PS, I don't exercise, either, although I should just for my own benefit.

I should have put in a standard disclaimer to the effect that I'm not a doctor (nor do I play one on TV), but I sincerely hope that your plan is being undertaken under the supervision of a competent physician, and, given the highly unusual nature of your regimen, that you are getting frequent updates (at least quarterly) on not only your blood pressure and cholesterol level, but also liver function, kidney function, tryglyceride level, blood mineral levels, as well as regular EKGs.

There is no doubt that the Atkins diet, strictly adhered to, will take off weight rapidly, at least in the short run. And there's no doubt that taking off a quick 20, 30, or 40 pounds (if you need to) will make you feel better. But you're playing with fire (in my confessedly uninformed opinion) if you make Atkins your permanent diet.

If it's worked for you, congratulations. But be careful!

Really? And what exactly was your diet BEFORE you started eating healthy? LOL!
