[history]
Ultra-right-wing organizations - including a particular West Coast group - have become a key focus of the massive federal investigation into the murderous Anthrax attacks, The Post has learned.
Investigators have been zeroing in on members of several anti-government hate groups that they believe have obtained or attempted to get the deadly bacteria from several U.S.-based laboratories before it surfaced in Florida, Washington and New York this month.

>> They had to be so secret they were able to avoid being infiltrated by any alphabet agencies<<
Unless they are an alphabet agency that wants to put pressure on Bush to go for Saddam now.

>> Unfortunately I doubt we will be given sufficient information<<
I would have thought, at a minimum, that the clinical details of the fatalities and the survivor(s) of inhalation would be public by now, or at least available to MDs (so we know how to treat the next case).

I don't believe it.

So that means they did this to get us to get Saddam now and are putting out disimformation to keep us from going after Saddam now. MY HEAD HURTS.

Hi, girlfriend. Fox and Friends asked for a gut reaction. If it was home-grown, hunkering in their bunker types, or as ManCow said - nuts in Utah...then I think more likely targets would be mortgage and credit card companies who call people at home and at work.
ooohhhh, I'm in trouble now.

OK, OK it was paranoid.
I have a two year old and a newborn, they were both up from 1-4:30AM last night, I've had three cups of coffee and am freeping too much.
Let's move on.

Right-wing groups in Germany have worked with Islamic terrorists.Who are you referring to?
The marxist Baader-Meinhoff Gang have worked with the PLO. So have the Italian Red Brigades. Marxist groups have a history of working with ME terrorist groups.

They're just trying to get the terrorists to make known who they are.

Pat Buchanan and his friends on Vdare.com are about as relevent as the Free Silver movement.

I expect the whole ball of wax to go to h3ll PDQ, and we on the right are caught between enemies both foreign and domestic. Any sugestions?

I agree with the targets themselves being another misdirection. The fact that Florida achieved such worldwide notoriety during the recount fiasco, added to the sensationalism of the AMI publications, may also have made it the logical starting point for anthrax -- more bang for the buck in the minds, perhaps, of those not entirely familiar with US culture.

THIS IS THE BIG LIE!!!!!!!!
To: kattracks
Kat, if this is true, the economy will come roaring back. If it's a right wing nut, or a left wing nut, it would mean the possible war with Iraq is off. The fears of smallpox are over. The peace dividend is back. Also, the Afghans quit looking so scary and the war will be over soon. We can put the nut to death or put him in a cell with the Unibomber. It would be sooooooooo wonderful if this was true.

Chances are it was in the US government biological lab in Pine Bluff, ARKANSAS during the 1980's. Just a little candy for those on this great forum who have extraordinary insight into those days in that state: think Mena, think blood supply, etc.

I've had three cups of coffee and am freeping too much.
You took the words out of my mouth. I'm so A.R. I'm glued to this d#mn site cause it gives me some false sense of control. Yet the flood of info, real and false, and the sure knowledge I'm not getting the whole story is agony. Added to that is the sure knowledge that is doesn't matter what I think I know, I can't do anything about it. I'm not in a state of panic. I'm not afraid of a direct attack on myself or my loved ones. I am angry, I am skeptical. You are blessed with those tykes. Cherish those all nighters. They grow up far to quickly.

BINGO!

If a domestic is behind the letters, they are very good. Better than the FBI and CIA. They were able to know the area of the country (a few square miles in FL, and NJ) that the terrorist were operating out of and sent out letters from those locations within a few days.Excellent point. People need to remember that the wife of the first man to die of pulmonary Anthrax rented apartments to the 9.11 terrorists, and Muhamad Atta showed up at a FLA pharmacy in Dec. with what looked alot like bleach burns on his hands.
If anybody is trying to piggyback on the 9.11 disaster it's the SPLC and DNC.

"Big Brother is good."
Excellent, Winston, you're learning! LOL
I would think the most likely domestic suspects would be the local intellectual 'soul-brothers' of the Islamic Totalists, namely the Anti-American, anti-capitalist, anti-technology, anti-individualist, LEFT-WING loonies and eco-terrorists, so beloved of the auto-lobotomized media.
Or is that too obvious? ;^)
On reading my post, I realize that I really do not LIKE lefty riff-raff. GRRRRR!!

There was another, 9-paragraph story tucked inside this one in a box, and it states that a government official with direct knowledge of the investigation said the totality of the evidence suggests that it is unlikely the spores were originally produced in the former USSR or Iraq, the only two countries besides the United States that can produce anthrax with such a sophisticated chemical additive.
