China secretly shipping Cuba arms - Thread #3

China is shipping arms and explosives to Cuba in a sign of increased military cooperation between Beijing and Havana, The Washington Times has learned. At least three arms shipments were traced from China to the Cuban port of Mariel over the past several months. All the arms were aboard vessels belonging to the state-owned China Ocean Shipping Co. (Cosco), according to U.S. intelligence officials.

Chase, thinks for flagging me, but I'm a little befuddled over the signifigance of this article.
What is unusual about a nation buying arms? Especially one that depends on arms to keep its citizens suppressed, fears revolt, has an aging charasmatic leader, and knows that expatriots are plotting to invade and overthrow the government?
Is there something I'm missing? Are you complaining that they are buying the arms from China instead of France or Israel? Are you suggesting that they are planning an invasion of America or some South American country?
The reason they are having to buy from China might be that they don't have the cash that other nations would require. China may be willing to trade sugar or rum for guns.
What am I missing?

Sorry that you're befuddled - but take a peek back at the three previous threads and while doing so - ponder over the specific word, "sketchy." (yes, arms are being shipped to Cuba, but does this keyword "sketchy" make you in the least bit - wonder what else the Communist Chinese are shipping to Cuba??

One should see all the Cosco Sea-Land containers on the trains leaving South Texas Ports for parts inland.... It makes me very unhappy. "C O S C O" still spells CHI COM to me.
Hell I see COSCO TRUCKS in Iowa every day on Interstate 80 !! Chinese Overseas Shipping Company. We will be destroyed from within. Whoever said that was very close to Bill the traitor, rapist, perjeror, thief, murderer, pervert, impeached Clinton.
