One year ago today (October 18) toilet flushes, dial-tones and "YEAH BABY"s were the order of the day, as a group of intrepid FReepers found the codes for a conference call between the Gore campaign and a contingent of reporters, and effectively "crashed" the call. Realized it was the 1-year anniversary earlier this evening during Registered's show.
Here's the way we were, one year ago today:
Gore Conference Call NOW
Neal Boortz criticizes FR Conference Callers
Registered's Report to you all concering the Gore Campaign Conference FReep call
And if you want to hear a portion of the call in glorious RealAudio, click here!
I read about the conference call on Drudge and thought, "These folks sound like my kind of people". I lurked for a few days and finally thought up a screen name.
I can't believe it's been a year already.
Next up: FR on cable. And then "Freepers: The Movie"!
The Gore people starting reading our comments in the thread in real-time and realized they were had.
The next one they had like a week or two later, they checked FR to see if we were hacking the call and then immediately switched over to a backup plan.
