MOULTON, Ala. (AP) -- Fifteen students at Lawrence County High School got suspended for wearing Confederate flag T-shirts to school Monday.
Principal Ricky Nichols said he suspended the students for three days each because they defied a ban he placed on rebel flag clothing on Friday.
"School is not an open forum," the principal said. "It is a place for learning."
Seven of the students and two parents protested later Monday at the Lawrence County Board of Education's parking lot.
The suspended students all wore T-shirts by Dixie Outfitters. The shirts have emblems on the front and back that contain the Confederate battle flag. The students said the shirts aren't meant as a racial statement.
"In Lawrence County, it's almost like a fashion statement, the same way people wear Tommy Hilfiger," senior Casey Hughes said.
Some students said they wear the shirts as an expression of Southern heritage, but the principal said none of the students could tell him if their great-grandfathers fought in the Civil War.

I think that this is their Web-Site:

The only E-Mail, that I've found so for, is:

LOL, since he was my daughter's great grand-father, that makes him my grand-daddy, and I was one lucky girl to have known him for as long as I did.
History books have been re-written, not only to change the causes of the War of Northern Aggression, but also to change the meaning of the Constitution itself. We are the worse for it.
I cannot understand why we acquiesce in this perversion of the past. I realise that those who attend the PC-ridden government-run schools do not know any better, but why do we act like sheep and permit it to happen?
True, textbooks have been censored to the point where truth is unrecognisable, yet the original documents still remain. Remember, if you will, that the proclamation issued by Lincoln did not free slaves in northern states, It was not an issue of freedom for slaves, and certainly not one of equality. The entire point was a terrorist attempt to start an uprising of Blacks in the South -- Blacks, many of whom fought beside the White soldiers of the Confederacy.
Oops, sorry. I better get off the soapbox; someone else may need it.
The people who take issue with displaying the Confederate flag only seek to make an issue out of a non-issue.

That is the very quesion that I've used to rattle as many trees as possible....Why do the 'Sheeple' just sit back and let things ride?
Come on. As we have seen recently in Amherst, Massachusetts, Madison, Wisconsin, and countless other places, people will find just about anything "divisive" whether the country's at war or not. The battle flag of the Confederacy is a proud emblem of our region. As a symbol of legitimate states' rights, it must be defended -- both from the PC crowd who wish to ban it and the racist clods who wish to appropriate it.
The promoters of "New History" are hard at work these days to alter our collective understanding of the past as it truly was. The Southern banner (in all its various versions) simply must not disappear. To deny its legitimate place in our culture is essentially to deny that (1) the Southern states were in their rights to withdraw from the union, and (2) the war waged against them is one of the most stunning outrages of history. And neither of those facts must ever be denied.
This guy is a principle? Who taught him history? Now he is in charge of educating the next generation of American youth.
I doubt any of their great-grandfathers fought in the civil war. ... Great-great-great-grandfather may be more appropriate for this age group.
Exactly.
does this mean that all those who claim to be offended by the confederate flag must prove their ancestors were slaves????????
At this point, I'd be happy to entertain their objections if they even had a foggy clue. The point is that they don't. And that goes for the vast majority of appologists who rally around their "offended" cause. If history were honestly taught and rationally debated I'd be a whole lot more tolerant of their point.
All this principle is teaching is blind acceptance of his views, rergurgitated pablum, and distain for the Bill of Rights.
If schools can teach holiday's like Kwanzaa and lies about the South (and U.S. History), my kid can wear a Battle Flag on his shirt.
God Bless Dixie [><]
...??!..."Learning"?! Did I miss something recently?! I thought schools were a place for dumbing down and indoctrination. When did this change?!
;o)
Which is why it took 4 years for the "North", with it's 22 million to defeat the "South", with it's 7 million. It was almost a fair fight.
Britt's idiocy runs roughshod over all facets of the South and her culture. I hope the_rightside doesn't buy into all this hogwash!
