The FBI released this photo on October 16, 2001 showing the letters that were sent to NBC in New York and to Sen. Tom Daschle's office on Capitol Hill and were found to contain the anthrax bacteria. Anthrax was confirmed in the letter opened on October 15 in Daschle's office, but so far none of the staff in that office has tested positive for exposure to the potentially deadly bacteria, Capitol police said. That's really nasty, giving the return address of a grade-school class.
That makes it ten times more likely to be opened and passed around in a Senate office. I used to work on Capitol Hill, and letters from children were always a big hit, because responding to them meant excellent PR and they often said something "cute".

Here is another one...(negative for anthrax)
St. Petersburg Times columnist Howard Troxler opened his letter at his desk Tuesday. As he did so, a white powdery substance, resembling sugar or salt, spilled out.
Troxler stopped opening the letter. Authorities were called to the newspaper's offices in downtown St. Petersburg. Police put the envelope in an airtight container and drove it to a state health lab in Tampa for analysis. Firefighters covered Troxler's desk with a plastic sheet and yellow emergency-scene tape reading "caution."
Health officials found no signs of anthrax or bacteria in the powder. The envelope and a letter inside also tested negative.
The letter had no return address and was postmarked St. Petersburg. It bears a code 337, then a space, then 1.
Anything that is mailed in Seminole, Largo, Bay Pines, Gulfport, Pinellas Park or any St. Petersburg neighborhood goes through the main post office on First Avenue N and is stamped with a 337. [Actual envelop shown in article and the zip code is visible as 33701 and the postmark can be made out as early (0?) October 2001 for St. Petersburg]
The cryptic letter misspelled Troxler's name and had little punctuation. It said:
"Howard Toxler ... 1st case of disease now blow away this dust so you see how the real thing flys. OKLAHOMA-RYDER TRUCK! Skyway bridge-18 wheels." [Oklahoma-Ryder Truck capitalized for emphasis by FR poster, original version did not use capital letters]

Yeah but it's in Arabic.

They all are written with capital letters.

"Yup. Had that letter been "returned", it's possible that an entire class of students could have opened it and released the anthrax therein." It looks to me like a totally made up return address.... Franklin Park (Franklin Township) doesn't have a school called "GREENDALE" and a google search for any GREENDALE School in NJ shows NONE.
Franklin Schools (NJ)
It could be the terrorist was familiar with the name from another state, as I saw GREENDALE schools in other states.
Also, I'm not sure Franklin Township's mail goes to TRENTON's Facility....It was reported that 085__ and 086__ zip codes go there. So I would think the 3rd number would be a 5?...
That zip code is hard to make out, I'm not sure what the last 3 numbers are but more than likely they made the whole thing up, since they didn't want to be found out anyway!
I do think it's really CREEPY they used a school as an address, that just shows that these animals won't think twice to do anything to US!!!
In a way I'm relieved there is no GREENDALE School in Franklin Park NJ - imagine how fearful the parents would be knowing "they KNEW about their school".....

I messed up. I thought the letters that I posted in #53 were current anthrax threat letters, but they're not.
I've asked the moderators to pull post #53. I'm very sorry for the confusion.

This is definately the same dude. There are no lowercase letters, it's CAPS and Small CAPS. The angle of the writing, felt tip pen, etc. Slam dunk.

That's really nasty, giving the return address of a grade-school class. Ya but with hand writing like that it's a good cover. This looks like someone who hasn't mastered the letter forms.
To: hankbrown
I was going to ask the same thing! Where did they go????
(I know I saw them posted)
To: hankbrown
The St. Petersburg addressor is different from the first two letters. Those were written by the same hand. Notice that the R's all end with the lower right quadrant arm extending below the primary vertical line.

You said, "It looks child-like to me - all caps and written very big." Could the terrorists (or unknown suspects) have had a child address these envelopes prior to inserting the anthrax? Remember, there are a group of kids that supposedly had prior knowledge to the events of 9-11 in the NYC area.

The town of Franklin Park NJ does exist but its zip is 08823. Monmouth Junction NJ has the zip code 08852. The two towns are just 4 miles apart and north of Trenton. Maybe there is some meaning to this switch.

those are envelopes sold with postage attached. a *very* small percentage of stamps are sold in this form, almost all at post offices. they're lot numbered, and most post office lobbies are taped -- remember the bush campaign tape?
