Harvard Prof Implies Anthrax Attacks Might Be Work of "Home Grown" Terrorists
Harvard Prof. Matthew Meselson on the O'Reilly Factor | 10/15/2001

Posted on 10/15/2001 5:27:54 PM PDT by Blade

These anthrax attacks might be the work of "home grown" terrorists, and not Islamic militants, according to Harvard microbiologist Matthew Meselson, Ph.D.

Looks like the spin is taking shape.

EXACTLY! Why would our "homegrown right-wing whackos" be sending "white powder" over seas? Answer: BECAUSE IT AIN'T HAPPENIN' THAT'S WHY!

Let the Left go chasing Right-wing boogie men. Meanwhile, the REAL terrorists will continue to poison the populace. It'll be their/our ruin. Really demonstrates just how sick and twisted these people really are. Probably came from the mind of HRC herself.

I'm reserving judgement until the lab results are back and they can tell us if all the reported cases are the same strain of anthrax. IMHO it is possible some of these are domestic "copycat" cases, or may be something else altogether. I find the cases of Brokaw and Daschle particularly suspect.

Harvey Kushman. Was quite quick to point to right-wingers. It was his opinion of course, but he labels himself as a terrorism expert. Seems we are starting to receive a lot of vrwc propaganda from the bookworms.

This thread seems more probable IMO.

Uhm, why is it that the nuts who flew into the WTC and Pentagon aren't being blamed for this?

I'm probably wrong, here (please inform me if so), but, as I understand the process of "spreading" Anthrax as a "Bioweapon," the process of preparing Anthrax spores for airborne spread (Weaponization) requires a HUGELY expensive refining process (on a par with weapons-grade Plutonium!)

If this is even approximately true, HOW did ANY US Militia-types acquire this product??

Al Qaeda has an active cell in Malaysia.

Indeed. And didn't Atta (or one of the 19 terrorists) visit Malaysia??

--my guess so far is a foreign graduate student studying here in microbiology started the batches after swiping some research samples. He might only been able to get his hands on relatively mild form of anthrax, not a weapons lab sample. The islamics use the cell concept, they have vague orders in a lot of case, just "go out and screw things up". sometimes they work coordinatedly, sometimes alone, sometimes sort of at the same effort but in different ways. Look at what's going on in israel now, there are factions inside of factions over there.

My second guess is they target media now simply from the fact that it freaks them out to be a target, so the media REALLY will cover the story then, constantly, which is what the terrs want, media coverage-"advertising"- leading to panic and whatever. Terror. Warstrikes. Unlimited war concept. Jihad.

Any sort of 'domestic militia" group has zero to gain from any action like this, nothing really, everything to lose, whereas the islamics have everything to gain.

I doubt it's domestic, in other words..

wonder exactly how many real "militia" guys a harvard professor really honestly knows? Sounds more like he visits some of the bogus 'watchdog" sites, then wrote some crappy article. Because he's a "professor", that gives him "credence"

PhD in a lot of cases="piled higher and deeper".

Matthew Meselson is a well-known wacko who has hopped on just about every left-wing hobby horse (nuclear winter - remember that?, etc.) that has come up, but, most shamefully, the "Yellow Rain" slander accusing the US of biowarfare in SE Asia. The "Yellow Rain" was shown conclusively (to all but the loony left) to be pollen. His suggestion that the anthrax cases might be a manifestation of the vast right wing conspiracy is pretty much par for his course.

Prof. Meselson is also shockingly easy to find. I'd wager he walks less than 5 blocks to work each day. Let him know what you think.

The prof is full of harvard. No "homegrown" terrorists could have the labs to make airborne spores. He's yet another collaborationist dirtbag, only he wears his tinfoil hat tilted to the left.

I'm a peaceful fella, and since I cheerfully saw the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in my rear view mirror in 1985, I've had no desire to return.
