Why would I wonder, these were the men who had known Christ in person, and they were the only men who Paul could compare what the Spirit had led him to teach, and what they were teaching, although it seemed foreign to them on how to deal with Gentiles.

Paul was given the Spirit, just like you or me, to "lead him unto all truth." Yet he had to go and check with the Apostles to make sure he was "on the same page" as them? How can this be? Do you think the Holy Spirit could have erred in what He told Paul?

The beef comes in when you start making dumb statements like the one's I pointed out before. Mary having children after the Birth of Jesus in no way made her less of a virgin before Jesus' conception nor does it affect the birth of Jesus in any way. Your Doctrine is moronic to say the least, yet it is high minded 'reason' and 'logic' that comes up with such moronicisms. Such people likely coined the phrase, "I are smart" and were the proximate model of the Mortimer Schnerd character.

If vmatt was a Catholic we could tell him he's wrong because a Catholic will listen to the Church over what the "Holy Spirit" told him.

The only church that vmatt ever said he was a part of was, guess what, the RC church and from his posts he hates all authority and never showed any signs that he had the slightest idea what sola scriptura even meant, let alone used it as a rule of faith. He is an anarchist, that is not, despite your straw man attempts, what sola scriptura teaches.

Moved by their theories regarding the transmigration of souls, they are logically induced to abstain from eating the flesh of animals, lest they should unconsciously consume their parents or friends.

Bass, I don't get it. The point of the parable, I thought, is that we should not be jealous of the mercy of God shown to others. Yeah it sucks to follow God all of your life while your brother boozes and womanizes. But if your brother comes to find God, even if on his death bed (end of the day in the parable) we should rejoice for his being saved, not grumble because we had to work all day.

So yes, there are folks whose lives are changed at the last moment, but that doesn't mean that salvation is a "one moment" event for all. In fact most of us have to spend some time working in the fields.

Proclaiming that Christ is your shepherd is of no practical consequence if, in fact, your doctrines, pastors, Bible interpretations, practices, etc., are determined by majority vote. Face it, the sheep are the ultimate authority in your church.

No problem al, may I suggest you check in the Catholic Encyclopedia under "Mary's Truck', I'm sure there is something in one of the early Church writings they can assimilate it, like they did with, "and with furrowed brow", and connect that to the sign of the cross, they will have no problem what so ever finding a Mary Truck.
