This "weapons for the shoguns and samurais only" attitude makes me crazy.

That's because these evil ones have the mistaken impression that everyone's life belongs to the government, and they are the government, at least at the local level. That's the attitude of an oriental despot, and fits them perfectly.

Intellectually and morally, these scum are no better than some raghead mullah.

''They don't think that putting more weapons out on the street is the way to solve crime.''

Yeah, forget the evidence that contradicts our "doctrine." let's not let reality get in the way of sticking to our P.C. guns.

The lesson of reality is that, in order for a crime to be "solved," a crime must first have taken place. Doesn't look like the police chiefs' standard take on this problem would have done Mr. Megerle much good.

Reality says that we're talking crime avoidance here, not crime solving.

The police chiefs' standard dogma just leaves people ripe for helpless victimhood. Their "braces-on-the-brains" approach to this problem is not only intellectually dishonest, but quite shameful in its disregard for the personal security of citizens. JMHO.

GREAT article, the irate magistrate. Thanks for the bump! best, bb.

I live in Northern KY - the Greater Cincinnati area.

We are often considered a suburb of Ohio, since mostly all of our local news coverage comes from the media across the river.

In the future my family and I are considering moving closer to the "heartland" of good ol' KY.

Hell, ya can't go wrong there, 'cat.
Just close your eyes & throw a dart at a map of the state; let fate take over from there.

KY is somthing else...and I might add it'd be hard for a fella to miss the fact KY has some of the prettiest ladies on planet earth.

"Yep - I married one. She's mean, though ; )"

Good grief!!
With a sexy Kentucky drawl as she growls at'cha, too??
-sigh-
The combination I love the most; I gotta admit...
I always enjoyed telling a Lady, "Ya can whip me & beat me; but never make me feel cheap." ;^)
But with your kinda a gal, telling 'em that wouldn't eeeeeeeven be necessary. {g}

"You said you just moved to the area? Where ya from?"

Why, I come (last) from the center of gravity; Champaign/Urbana in Illinois.
A woeful place.

Reminds me of a joke:

A small-town Southern girl gets on a plane and sits next to a big-city yankee lady.

Being the polite southern belle, she asks the lady, "So, where ya from?"

The yankee woman snobbishly replies, "Some place where we know better than to end a sentence with a preposition."

The southern girl then says, "So, where ya from, bitch?"

"No amount of FACTS will convince ME, I'm... LIBERAL MAN the steadfast bastion of Left-Wingedness! Some Superheroes wear capes, others tights, but you'll know LIBERALMAN when you see him because of the big L on my forehead. Of course, sometimes I wear tights, too, but not as part of my superhero gig..."

No Picture?

LOL!

Joe Megerle was suspicious when a stranger approached him just after sunrise in Devou Park and asked him for the time.

Unfortunately a similar incident happened in San Antonio a few years back. Two tourist, a man and his wife were killed because they didn't have a gun to protect themselves.

The liberal elite in government is concerned about citizen resistance.

They really don't care if we shoot one another or not. They don't care if we're defensless.

An armed citizenry is a threat to their power.

Right. Wasn't it Jefferson that said that when the government fears the people, that is freedom. But, when the people fear the government, that is tyranny.

Welles, the author of "1984" and "Animal Farm" was a socialist to the core but he did fear government tyranny. An article appeared in The New American magazine back in March, 2000, wherein he stated that "expensive weapons were the weapons of tyranny but cheap weapons were the weapons of freedom". For that reason, may God bless the "Saturday-night specials" which will keep us from tyranny!
