SEATTLE -- A federal prosecutor who also was a leading figure in the national gun control movement died early Friday after he was shot at his home, apparently with a gun fired through a window as he worked at his computer, authorities said.

Thomas C. Wales, a white-collar crime prosecutor who had mobilized one of the nation's most far-reaching gun control initiative campaigns, died within hours of the 10:40 p.m. Thursday shooting.

There's the link. It gets really bad. They blame us for it, and call us Nazi's.

I like to know WHAT evidence is there that a pro-2a did this? What evidence? Until you have any, SHUT THE F UP! If they mentioned my organazation in this, I would probably sue their asses.

This thread will turn out to be pretty hilarious if we get the same posters jumping to conclusions about the perpetrators of every alleged terrorist incident (such as using the Tennessee Bus Hijacking to promote their anti-Arab or anti-Muslim agendas) start flaming the media about using this incident to attack anti-gun control advocates.

Thomas C. Wales, a white-collar crime prosecutor

Sounds like someone he was investigating/prosecuting had a professional get the charges dropped.

His "...one of the nation's most far-reaching gun control initiative campaigns,...." which failed with the voters flaming it with an excess of 70% voting against it.

Dan, I predicted right after this hit the wires that his wife (now I learn she is his exwife) had him hit. I have no knowledge of any plot, but it seemed too coincidental that she was "out of town" when he was shot assassination style from outside his house, through a window into his basement office.

It may turn out that I am wrong, and I hope I am, but that is my gut feeling.

90%+ of these murder for hire cases end up with the "shopper" closing the deal with a fed agent. Nobody knows a hit man so when they start fishing around for a hit man they get busted. But a new love interest can be convinced to do dirty work a lot easier.

This prosecutor prosecuted defendants charged with white-collar crimes.
He had many potential enemies - law-abiding Second Amendment supporters would be on the bottom of the list.

Aw, Dan- this is no surprise.... I just knew in my gut that the "anti" crowd would, at some point after 911, tune up and start singing "the need for common-sense gun regulations" in SABT harmony--

I don't have the links handy, but I covered some of them by posting in my DUBOB's- the "Gun Industry Arms Ben Ladin," "The Terrible Menace of .50 calibre Helo-Killers," etc.

The usual, and expected, bilge.

The real question is, do Americans still have enough common sense left to see thru their lies & distortions....

You know...there's still a standard question that needs to be asked

Why didn't anyone shoot back?

From what I read, he didn't have a chance. He was shot while he was in the basement on his computer. A sniper was outside his basement window.

And knowing him, he probably had a gun. Most Anti-self Defense types do.

My guess - Russian Mob.

Definitely the Russian Mob ...but the question must be asked nonetheless.

BTW: The question doesn't specify that he has to shoot back himself, only that someone in the vicinity does so.

Granted it appears this guy was careful enough that there appear to be no witnesses to the shooting.
