There has been abortion, adultery, and every other imaginable sin , in every nation, in every era, and to claim otherwise is disingenuous. For GOD to " punish " people who did not have an abortion or commit adultery, as a supposed " wake up call " , for those who have done, is patently ridiulous and the antithesis of every religous tenent I know of.
Ezekial was a prophet. Prophets appeared in ancient Israel to warn those people, and those people ONLY ! They weren't some weird , early form of Nostrodamus, prognosticating future happenings in the VERY far off future.
The Bible Codes is nothing similar at all to the prohibited fortune tellers of The Bible.
If you deny that Isaiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, Amos et al . . . not to mention John The Revelator have nothing prophetic to say about our era, I begin to wonder if you are reading the same Bible. . . . or whether your fair-mindedness has been put to bed, first.
God, outside of time, can do whatever He wants within our dimensions and outsied of them.
When the "Bible Code" book originally came out, I recall someone published a column that proved the so-called code produced the same results when applied to a book of major league baseball statistics as it did in the Bible. It's such blatant nonsense that it's sad a single person ever bought into it.
Now, the interpretation of these is quite a different matter. God does not "bring judgment" on America for sin---this is not a part of Old Testament or New Testament prophecy. Indeed, one of the few references to America has to do with American air efforts (the eagle) to rescue Israel. But when you come up with solid statistical evidence that you can find 15 or so CLEARLY related words or phrases in one paragraph of "The Hunt for Red October," I'll listen to you.
This statement is not correct. Don't get me wrong, I'm not supporting the bible code theory at all, but if prophets were sent to warn only the people of their times, why do we need the bible at all? Was Christ sent only to teach and save the people of His time? I think not. Furthermore, where are the true prophets of our day? Am I to believe that God has abandoned us?
Thank you. It amazes me when people attempt to abuse the Bible like reading Tarot cards, numerology and other practices condemned by God in the Bible.
What a bunch of wackos.
