Here is a link to the story --- MADISON SCHOOL BOARD BANS PLEDGE, STAR SPANGLED BANNER
When I read the story, I thought it had to be from the ONION or another humor site. It had to be a FReeper just spoofing us. But it wasn't.
In something that epitomizes what the political left has done to this nation since the 60s, the Madison School Board banned -- no, didn't say that it would be optional -- they banned the pledge of allegiance and the singing of the Star Spangled Banner in their school system.
So, the question has to be asked. If Madison is invaded by Arab terrorists, is it worth taking up arms to defend them? Perhaps we could allow the terrorists to play with them awhile before we kick them out. If they destroyed the town, and particularly the Communist University, we could start over.
I think I'd let the Arabs have the town for about two weeks. Maybe the women then wouldn't think that right wingers were all that bad. The more I think about it, I might give them a month.

Madison Is an embarrassment to most of us But were Im at. My neighbor used all the Christmas light that he put outside. To make a large Flag with a big one hanging off his house. The school day starts with the pledge. And at the start of all games. Not only is everyone standing and facing the flag but with there hat off and hand over heart. and Flags all over.
We do need to clean out the trash down there and every were.
Here is an event coming up in Eau Claire on the 11 Th. Come on up.
Veterans Rally To Support Troops, Public Welcome Eau Claire WI. Thursday, October 11

As a resident of the Badger State I can say that The House On The Rock is bearable for about fifteen minutes. After being in the place for an hour and seeing sixteen gazillion carousels or the worlds largest fake snout collection plus other interminable oddities, I ran from the building screaming at the top of my lungs. I'm only slightly exaggerating. However, it is one of our best tourist traps.
Dear American tourists: when you visit our fair state, please observe the speed limits (especially you Illinois drivers), try not to hit the billions of deer that cross the highways (I've hit three in the last three years), and eat vast quantities of cheese. All the cheese profits goes towards funding the Packers. Thank you very much.

Yes there are a lot of nutty liberals, but Madison is a pretty good place to visit from time to time. Lots of used book stores, good places to eat, and the Art Fair on the Square in July (love to listen to those Incan musicians). My part of the state (western Wisconsin) gets a little boring occasionally.

I resent that. Theres lots of bratwurst here also. And lutefisk. Uff da to you!

No way!
If they want to rely on something other than the United States for protection, let them rely on it and let the barbarians have at it. It will teach them a lesson.
I can't believe the jerks! THEY rely on US soldiers, whose JOB integrity RELIES ON THE PLEDGE!!!!!! YET those uncle f5ckers will NOT HONOR THAT PROTECTION!!!! WELL THE HELL WITH MADISON WISCONSIN, TELL BIN LADEN TO GO AT IT!

I doubt that turning Madison over to the Taliban for a week or so would change few minds. No matter the treatment received, these folks would find a way to justify it and blame it all upon the oppressive politics of the United States. It would be: "Just see how mean our policies made them".
Nope. I'm not sure we'd even notice. What would change? Maybe a more restrictive dress code in the schools. Thats about all.

But first we should move the capitol building out, piece by piece. It's fashioned after the capitol in D.C., and built 6 inches lower in deference to it.
It's the only redeeming quality about that god-forsaken city.

Madison is a beautiful city - it really is. Too bad it's filled to the brim with lunatics. My brother lives there, however, and he was in the Army for years and the reserves for a long time after that. If Osama came to town, my brother would definitely kick his #@!!
Keeping all the lunatics in Mad City and Milwaukee is actually a pretty good strategy - makes the rest of my native state much easier to deal with. We also know where they are this way....

QUOTE: "Didn't the Onion move to Manhattan recently? "I hadn't heard that; all their contact info on their website still listed Madison the last time I checked. However, if they did move to Manhattan recently, they sure picked a bad time to do so....

Having been in Madison for scientific meetings (and needing to endure some really
stupid "Stop Starbucks" protests),
I suspect the over-fed pacifist-feminists of Madison would be even more p-ssed at right-wing
males after the experience.
They'd angrily demand to know why we hadn't sent in Delta Force and launched cruise
missles on the first day to save them from the everyday life of women
under the thumb of the Taliban.
In all the time I spent in Madison, I only met one female that
could be fairly characterized as "Non-Communist/Non-Socialist".

Well, I'll be!...that Christmas light flag is great, isn't it?
I'm out of touch with our local events - thanks for the head's up!
P.S. It's hard to defend Madison verbally, let alone physically...

Madison has a lot going for it. On the down side we've got a lesbian mayor, a lesbian fire chief, an 80% lesbian police department, and the FIRST openly lesbian congresswoman in the USA. Our city was 70% for Ralph Nader until election day when they all voted for algore. Our schools are out of money but the school district just hired a counselor for gay/lesbian/bi/transgendered students for a mere $80,000 a year. It's a wonder that the UW Badgers could find enough men to play football...if you want to call it football after the serious 63-32 whuppin' at the hands of the "mighty" Hoosiers. Of course, after the recently revealed NCAA violations against UW-Madison, it's obvious that Bucky Badger had to cheat in order to get enough men to take the field.
