Cnn reported F16 scrambled from DC area, then showed an F14 twin tail overhead headed West. Good God... If their mission was to intercept another Airliner, What can their instructions be... Shoot down that 767?

Very Unusual activity in the sky overhead in Washington, DC. Large Military Helecopter headed SE toward Central DC, being chased by multiple F16s. I hope they are all ours and under proper control. CNN not reporting and I am not reporting everything.
