Good Lord...

They have Kirk Hammett & James Hetfield higher on the list than Dave Mustaine & Marty Friedman???? Mustaine & Friedman have more talent in their little fingers on guitar than Hammett & Hetfield. Sad...

IMO, they lost all credibility voting Hendrix below the Top 10.

There are really only four Heavy Metal bands:

Black Sabbath, Motorhead, Judas Priest and Iron Maiden.

Everyone else just copies them.

No kidding...that first Montrose album with Hagar is an absolute MUST for anyone's rock/metal collection.

I've owned it on LP, 8-track, cassette, and currently have the CD. I've been listening to it for over a quarter century!

I agree, but I think That's gotta be due to Geddy Lee's status in the band as the multi-instrumental grand poobah, .
When I listen to Lifeson's guitar playing, I can only think, " Why have I never thought to deem him the greatest rock guitarist of all time?"

I'd put his playing alongside Brian MAy from the standpoint of its originality.

He he. I'm a Paco De Lucia devotee, myself. Just went to Spain for my honeymoon and spent 1/3 of thevacation budget on Paco CDs. ( He's got his own wall at the main record store in Valencia).

I never liked Segovia, much...But at least he didn't have the drug problem Larry Coryell had...

OK...I better stop

I wasn't aware that Keith Howland had any albums out. Will definetley look for them!

Yes that's the album I was talking about. (I wasn't aware it was for sale anywhere yet.) It's today's band, but Howland gets down!

If you have a dvd player, I'd really think about getting the DVD, so you can watch them too.

Here's the DVD on Ebay.

If that link doesn't work, just search for "Chicago Live Soundstage". My girlfriend is a Chicago nut - this DVD made her really happy. I had to pay $61 bucks, but it was an original, and still cheaper than giving 100 bucks to to the pinko's at PBS.

Someone on Ebay has one for sale almost every week. I've seen them go as low as $30, and as high as $90.

If you like Chicago, I think you'll really like this one.

Wow ... other people know Strato, Arch Enemy, Gamma Ray, Iced Earth and Children of Bodom!? I thought I was alone!

Not only are you not alone, but there are many, many more of us out there. Don't let our appearances fool you. Just because we look like mild mannered office workers during the day doesn't mean we don't piss off our neighbors every night.
