There have been threads here on the subject of Billy Jeff's alleged intellect where things have been said better than I can ever say them. But putting aside the moral values, which I think are somewhat irrelevant to the discussion about "brightness", I mean some or many of the dumbest among us have the "correct" moral values, I'll say that there are many "bright" people and few wise ones. To go back to my earlier post, I don't understand how someone who allegedly read these 21 books would come out spouting nothing but meaningless, shallow left wing cliches. Cliche slogans, cliched formulas, cliched thinking, that is all we have heard from this clown. That's just fine for the pratfalls during a Barnum and Bailey Extravaganza!

LOL!!! That moron Klinton hasn't read 2/3rds of the books on that list. Klinton the guy that wants people to just think he's literate. Most often when a book is open in front of him, its either upside-down, or he's day-dreaming about how to molest some women while numbly looking at the pages.

I noticed the conspicuous absence of The Holy Bible. The way he clutched that big version after getting caught with his jism on Monica's dress, I'd have thought it would have made his list. Although, I'm betting he hasn't read half the books on the list as is.

Bill Clinton is an enigma, if nothing else. He probably is pretty smart, and he probably has a few good intentions--I give him that. But the essence of his personality is cynicism. He has directed every talent he possesses toward only one end--winning the love, affection, admiration, approval, alliance, loyalty, etc, of anyone and everyone who has been unlucky enough to cross his path. He is incapable of leadership. He is unable even to make a decision without consulting all possible OTHERS. He has no self, but paradoxically, everything that happens is about him. He is, in short, a large, undeveloped infant with the cunning of a criminal. That's who ran our country for eight long years.

I'm a professional musician (have been for nearly 30 years...there are several names on my resume you would recognize), from a family of professional musicians (dad played in shows with Louis Armstrong, mother is a professional jazz singer who still swings, to this day), married to a professional trumpet player with a doctorate (we got engaged the day after he played with Natalie Cole), and I have a brother-in-law who is one of the finest sax players in the country and sells CDs internationally.

Having established my credentials : ), I will volunteer that the opinion of every musician I know on Bill Clinton's sax playing: He sucks - unless you're judging him on high school kid standards...in which case he would be mediocre.

Thanks for the expert opinions. I'd be interested to know if Clinton's short performance on a talk show was sufficient to indicate his low proficiency or whether anyone you know had a chance to hear Clinton play elsewhere.

You took my last comment the wrong way. I totally accept your judgement and that of your friends on Clinton's sax playing as you obviously know what you are talking about and I do not. I was just curious if Clinton had ever given musicians another opportunity to observe him or whether the Arsenio incident was sufficient. Based on what you have said, it is clear that Clinton's sax playing on TV is one more incident in which he tried to put one over on the general public.

Thanks - and I would say that for people who know how to play, the Arsenio appearance was sufficient. My impression was that he was trying to make people think he was hip or something, by proving he could do it at all. Nobody really expects a politician to be able to play anything on the sax, I guess.

I'd say Clinton was almost proficient enough to perform with a high school band, maybe...
