Have you noticed how former smokers seem to gain weight and become less interesting conversationalists and seem to experience more vague chronic pain?

But studies have shown nicotine can improve memory

Smokers ARE smarter than non-smokers! They understand freedom and Citizens rights better too!

So a more radical headline would be "Cigarettes May Help Those Suffering Mild Cognitive Impairment". What will the liberals do if there is actually a benefit from cigarette smoking?

There's an article in the new Oct. 27 Fortune magazine about how anti-inflammatory drugs like aspirin and the statin variety of anti-cholesterol drugs may prevent Alzheimer's and other serious diseases like cancer and heart disease.

As the name suggests Mild Cognitive Impairment is milk memory loss, but it's not simply forgetting where you put your keys. MCI is characterized by forgetting episodes or events, like forgetting if you had lunch with a friend.

I remember having lunch with a friend, but could not tell you when it happened. But I have been like this all my life.

"And he is using an unlikely weapon ... nicotine patches originally designed to deliver nicotine to smokers trying to quit."

I thought the quit smoking market was an afterthought to just this type of development and application.
