Ouch! - Steele Calls Rush's CPAC Speech "Incendiary, Ugly" (video)
Evil Conservative Radio ^ | 01 Mar 09 | EC

RNC Chair Michael Steele on CNN's DL Hughley show last night... I think the correct message would have been along the lines of "I'm the political leader of the party, but Rush delivers our message with punch and humor every day to millions of Americans..." Oh well.

Was it? I missed it all. The CPAC stuff doesn’t interest people interested in results, at least not this person. Steele just making waves sounds like a great plan at this moment to me.

Despite all the excitement Mr. Steele generated with his election, he has managed to disappoint with roughly half of his public statements.

Steel is jealous of Rush’s popularity.

Well, I'm re-posting the letter I sent to Steele after I saw his comments:

Mr. Steele, rather than characterizing Rush Limbaugh's comments as "incendiary" and "ugly", perhaps you should address what is truly ugly in the GOP. And that is the trio of Snowe, Collins and Specter. These people are not Republicans, at least they are not Conservative. They should be forced to turn in their credentials and you should do all in your power to see they leave the GOP.

Truth sometimes IS ugly Mr. Steele. One of the truths is that GOP has too often rolled over for Democrats and been screwed for our trouble. I want those days to be over forever and SO DOES RUSH LIMBAUGH.

Incendiary? It takes an incendiary of some kind to light a fire does it not? GOP needs a fire under that ass.

Do not portray yourself as being at odds with the most successful voice of Conservatism that has ever picked up a microphone.

Rush said the exact same things that he does on the radio. He got 100 standing “O’s” from the crowd. Steele is running with the crowd now. He just lost me. I had supported his new position. Now, I figure he is just ANOTHER REPUBLICAN.

I said I would give Steele a chance and it looks like he’s decided to waste it.

If we want to clean house - then no better way than drop this guy off at the next light.

When will Michael Steele learn that no matter how you might try to downplay your relationship with conservatives or marginalize other leaders within the party, to a black liberal commentator like Hughley, you're just another sellout and Uncle Tom. Thanks Mike, for exposing the lack of depth in your commitment to the movement. You can continue walking down the political middle of the road, where you will eventually end up as just another piece of rotting roadkill.

I have a bond with Rush that cannot be broken. Rush speaks for millions of us. I wonder what Steele is thinking.

Watch the context...Mr. Steele was CLEARLY NOT referring to Rush’s speech. Rather he was commenting on the fact that talk radio hosts sometimes go a bit overboard to get their points across. Something I suspect Rush would agree with himself (and about himself, especially in earlier days).

I had (and still have) high hopes for Micheal Steele. But he must get his mind out of the past election and start working on the next on.

Rush is Right
