They weren’t interested in psychology. They were looking for differences in physiology.
What they found was that people who did well had omega 6/omega 3 ratios of 4/1 or less.
People who did poorly had omega 6/omega 3 ratios of roughly 25 to one—which is closer to the american average.
Another study found that long lived populations in the so called blue zones around the world have omega 6/ omega 3 ratios of close to 1/1
I have seen recent studies that suggest fish oil supplementation of as much as 4 grams per day

Not that I doubt you! But I’d like to show proof to others who will (they’d poo-poo “Ex-Lax treats constipation” while sitting on the throne!).
That study and $1.50 will get you a terrible cup of coffee at a diner somewhere late at night.
When I came back I ate salmon, crab, oysters, shrimp, halibut, rockfish I caught, dug, trapped because other than wild berries that’s all I had to eat. Didn’t help.
