Morning Aeronaut
Morning E.G.C.
Very heavy fog out this morning.
I barely remember the Constellations landing at O'Hare. The jets were beginning to take over. :-(
Morning Samwise.
I bet the schools today would frown on the razor blade and saftey pins.
Morning aomagrat.
Interesting story on the USS Springfield. Today, with all the purpose built Guided Missile ships, it's hard to remember that the first ones were all old WWII ships that were re-designed and upgraded.
Hi Ho, Hi Ho, it's off to paint we go. :-)
Read: Luke 10:25-37
You shall love your neighbor as yourself. Romans 13:9
Bible In One Year: Jeremiah 37-39; Hebrews 3
When a man learned that an elderly woman could no longer buy her medicine and pay her rent, he came to her rescue. He took her into his home and treated her as if she were his mother. He gave her a bedroom, prepared the food for her meals, bought her medicine, and transported her whenever she needed medical attention. He continued to care for her when she could no longer do much for herself. I was amazed when I learned that this good man was a zealous atheist!
The Jews were shocked by Jesus' parable of the Good Samaritan, because He put him in a positive light. They despised the Samaritans the way I tend to look down on atheists.
A lawyer had tested Jesus by asking how he could inherit eternal life. Jesus asked him what the law said. The man answered that he must love the Lord with all his heart and his neighbor as himself (Luke 10:25-27). He asked Jesus, "Who is my neighbor?" (v.29). In Jesus' story, the Samaritan was the neighbor who showed kindness to the wounded man.
Jesus wanted this parable to challenge His listeners. The stories of the Good Samaritan and the good atheist remind us of this high standard of God's Word: "Love your neighbor as yourself" (Romans 13:9). Herb Vander Lugt

LOL! He sure turned into a nutcase, didn't he?
It seems to me there were a lot less "needy" people before the government started lending a "helping hand". I remember family, church and neighbors doing a lot of the cahrity work the government now claims to be doing. :-(
Hi Sam.
I heard a pastor once years ago speak on "The Good Samaritan", only he used a a black communist homosexual, I'll leave it to you to think of just who the other persons were.
Very effective.
And remember the paint goes on the walls not the people
Are you sure? That doesn't sound like much fun.
You are exactly right.
It used to be the day when we took care of our own.
Parents lived with their children when they were old.
Families looked after other family members.
Churches we a vital part of the greater community.
Government has become the care giver, the great society has
killed the family unit and has removed God from all aspects of our lives,
or better put, want to get rid of God and Faith all together.
We now live in the government dependent society.
This is the community I want nothing to do with.
Families are spiltup like never before in history.
My family is spread out over 5 different states.
I truly miss the family life I had as a child, we visited and shared holidays with the family.
It just doesn't happen any more, and it's a shame.
Howdy, everyone.
