It seems to me there were a lot less "needy" people before the government started lending a "helping hand". I remember family, church and neighbors doing a lot of the cahrity work the government now claims to be doing. :-(
You are exactly right.
It used to be the day when we took care of our own.
Parents lived with their children when they were old.
Families looked after other family members.
Churches we a vital part of the greater community.
Government has become the care giver, the great society has
killed the family unit and has removed God from all aspects of our lives,
or better put, want to get rid of God and Faith all together.
We now live in the government dependent society.
This is the community I want nothing to do with.
Families are spiltup like never before in history.
My family is spread out over 5 different states.
I truly miss the family life I had as a child, we visited and shared holidays with the family.
It just doesn't happen any more, and it's a shame.
