Police used a taser to electric shock a disabled man because he was standing on a bus, as he always does. The man prefers standing because of his spinal injuries, which make it uncomfortable for him to sit.

It’s not encouraging when cops behave in such a manner. Police forces need to screen their applicants more carefully than they do now.
A lawsuit is pending.
bump
Has he been promoted yet?
Mall Cop!
Did he shoot the guys dog next? Seems to be de rigueur with gendarmes lately.
The imperiousness of it is what gets me - “I’m giving you an order to get off the bus.” Yeah? Well, I’m giving you an order to get off my back!
Is there a law against standing? If so, why didn’t they tell him about the law when he asked? Or maybe they did and that part didn’t make it off the cutting room floor.
It looks like the driver instigated the whole ordeal. Does he allow people to stand if all the seats are taken, or does he make them get off?
Why can’t people just use common sense? Maybe because it’s so rare?
Get the best ambulance chaser to be found and sue the hell out of them.
In police protocol it was considered safer than tackling him or using a baton. What a world. He sounds like such a decent, stand up guy as well...only suing out of concern that just having endured open heart surgery the electricity from the taser could cause another cardiac arrest. Hope he is at least getting the best possible medical care courtesy of Syracuse PD.
Did he have a dog?
“Safer than tackling hin ...”
To be safe, call in a TacNuc strike on the bus from underground police HQ.
Or the SWAT Death Squad!
I suspect it’s more about training and policy...
Let’s see -— tazering a neurologically disabled individual who has been hit by two trains? What’s the highest award for valor the Syracuse police department can bestow? Another example of the cowardly individuals who are becoming cops nowadays.
I would like to be on the jury hearing the civil suit against all involved!
A woman in our county was waiting for a ride. She was in a chair in the courthouse lobby with her two grandkids. She had a seizure. A deputy walked up and kicked her in the ribs to see if it was real. She had a bruise. Everyone is betting the sheriff won’t do squat about it.
“Hope he is at least getting the best possible medical care courtesy of Syracuse PD.”
If he is, in fact, getting the best possible medical care, he’s getting it care of the taxpayers of Syracuse.
With a good lawyer, this man will have his own custom Rolls Royce ambulance with a nurse driver. Sue em’ buddy !
Filthy pigs.
The bus driver is also an idiot. I’ve never heard of a driver insisting people sit.
