S.C. Sen. Tom Davis the leading fiscal conservative in South Carolina state government and one of the most coveted endorsements of the 2012 First in the South presidential primary will announce his support for U.S. Rep. Ron Paul on Sunday.
Davis will endorse Pauls candidacy at a campaign event Sunday evening in Myrtle Beach, S.C. confirming a report published earlier this week on Buzzfeed.
Pauls campaign has described Davis forthcoming endorsement as consequential and game-changing. Why? Click here.
A first-term State Senator, Davis wields a disproportionate impact given his stellar fiscal voting record and his advocacy on behalf of key state-level reforms including a taxpayer rebate fund and an aggressive government restructuring bill (unlike the restructuring in name only pushed last year by Gov. Nikki Haley).
Davis has also pushed for individual income tax relief as opposed to taxpayer-funded incentives on the job creation front arguing that the latter only shift the states tax burden onto small businesses.
Most importantly for the states economic future, however, Davis has been the leading proponent of a public-private Jasper Port terminal although S.C. Gov. Nikki Haleys recent Savannah River Sellout may have doomed that project.
Senator Tom Davis fiscal conservative credentials are outstanding, Matt Moore, executive director of the SCGOP, said recently. Any candidate would do well to gain his endorsement.
Not surprisingly, Davis nod has been among the most sought-after of the primary season. Last year, The Politico named him one of its 50 politicos to watch, while a recent CNN story referenced him as a rising star.
In addition to Davis, several other leading fiscal conservatives in the S.C. General Assembly are also rumored to be endorsing Paul in the coming days. So stay tuned
Anyone would be boring after an Edwin Edwards term.
I agree 100%.
If alterPaul is ‘none of the above’ choice then it is a stupid choice. The people who would choose alterPaul for any choice at all are as insane as alterPaul.
The Tom Davis I referenced is a SC State Senator. Please click on the source link.
Reading most of the posts here is interesting. Free Republic? Against the only candidate that will be restrained by the Constitution, expect Congress to declare war, fight them to win then come home, start the process of ending the fed, end global militarization so we can INCREASE national defense and security. Yep, Ron Paul is crazy. Crazy enough to dream the vision of America as a Republic of Republics bound by a restrictive Constitution the keeps the federal government out of our lives is still possible. You keep calling him names. I will continue praying Jesus Christ will open enough eyes to keep the revolution gaining steam.

Roemer committed himself to not being a serious candidate through his decision to not do major fundraising in order protest “money in politics” or something like that.
Lets not let the facts get in the way of a good smear.
Free Republic is an Anti-Ron Paul website and his supporters will get banned.
There was a time when he was a hero around here. It’s very 1984. But hey, even Ann Coulter is the enemy on FR now. These people will turn on ANYONE!
Washington DC is a whorehouse. I wish more politicians would stop turning political tricks in DC.
