In an editorial published in the Wall Street Journal on August 11, Whole Foods CEO John Mackey outlined a seven-point plan for healthcare reform that sought to marginalize the role of government. Conservatives asked themselves: 'Why didn't Republicans think of that?'
Mackey's editorial highlights a very disturbing question with the Republicans' "Road to Recovery:" Where are Republicans?
It's one thing to take some time off from the political spotlight to get one's priorities in order, but to disappear completely during this perfect opportunity leaves one to question how serious Republicans are about coming back from the political wilderness.

The other Mr. Mackey.
Saying that libertarians are anarchists is like saying that some baptists are catholic.
Libertarian thought isn’t anarchy any more than C/conservative thought is.
The Constitution establishes a role for government. Libertaians want government to stay within its Constitutional boundaries, nothing more nothing less. Just follow the Constitution.
Yeah, the GOP really does need to get rid of people who think like that and they’re doing an excellent job of it.
Impy thinks talking in the third person is fun.
Impy likes that one episode of Seinfeld where Elaine dates that guy named Jimmy.
Your comment is quite silly in response to the article's main question, since John Mackey is a libertarian.
Bill Kelly told me that Topinka hasn’t announced a campaign, this year. She’s still considering running for comptroller.
I like you! I may not agree with you, but I like you! You at least went to the link and read it. If you keep on reading a few things like that, your sub-conscious will start to work on you and you will experience ENLIGHTENMENT one day. You will have your “Moment of Clarity”.
parsy, who says thanks for at least reading it!
You should try “third person-ism” sometimes. It allows one to step outside of the ego, and see a thing for what it is. Arkansas is a very Zen state.
parsy, who will find you some links on Astral Projection
Homey don’t play dat.
DJ, who thinks Parsy should kick his anti- in “Capitalism” to the curb.
Impy thinks that's swell. Impy likes to be liked. ;)
DJ, who knows, and is trying to bring Parsy back from the dark side. :-)
Hmmmmm. I just buzzed thru Tennessee for a few nanoseconds on my way to Tibet. What’s it worth to you for me to keep your secret?
parsy, who now knows about the wooden ventriloquist’s dummy you have named Dmitri. . .
Stay away from the acid, dude.
You know the weird thing is that I do really have the ability to voluntarily enter a dissociative state. I use it sometimes when I am solving word scrambles or if I am trying to solve a problem. It is like I cut my mind loose and it just works on its own. It is accompanied by a state of nausea as I pop in and out. Been able to do it since I was a teenager. Well, really before then. I think it is some sort of an altered state of consciousness. I tell my friends I don’t see things, I see into and around things. Most of them believe me after a while.
parsy, who is afraid to stay there too long
Agree with the author. Conservative leaders should be repeating Mackey’s comments on reform loudly and often. They’re not. It’s perplexing. They should flood the debate with these proposals and drown out the propaganda.
Want disassociative ? Try having labyrinthitis 24/7 as I have for about 13 years.
DJ, who can’t fathom why people want to get drunk or high to have that f’d up floating feeling I do all the time (and who’d like to get off the ride).
Had to look it up. Sorry for you. Any hope of getting rid of it?
parsy, the concerned
All the ENT could suggest was change of diet (that wasn’t going to work, because I ate very light and bland foods for a good stretch early on and there was no change) or exercises, and those didn’t do zilch except to make me dizzier and nauseous. If I had Meniere’s, supposedly I could’ve had surgery. There’s nothing at last check. Que sera sera.
