A REVOLUTION TO TAKE BACK THE US CONGRESS by Nelson Lee Walker of tenurecorrupts.com

I am proposing that we create a popular, bloodless, political revolution in our country.

I believe that it is very necessary, very possible, and very doable.

The object of this revolution is the destruction of the professional political class which currently dominates and corrupts the US Congress.

I am convinced, as are many, many voters, that the bulk of our country’s political problems arises out of this ‘permanent’ Congressional political class, and their devotion to party power and to the financial special interests keeping them in power.

There is a simple way for voters to create this revolution: That way is to...NEVER REELECT any Congressional incumbent, anytime, in the House or the Senate, good guys or bad, in either party. Just NEVER REELECT!

It can be done easily and at no cost. All it takes is a national email campaign by all voters, getting their friends, and their friends, and their friends, to send out this NEVER REELECT message, frequently, thru out 2008, 2010, and 2012, and maybe longer...Just NEVER REELECT!

If we succeed in doing this for two or three election cycles, we would sharply reduce the rate of successful reelections from over 98% in the House. Similarly in the Senate. This leaves room for and encourages ‘citizen’ legislators. It would break the back of the special interests and allow ‘citizen’ legislators, using the Internet, without the help of special interests, to run for and win office.

The resulting larger contingent of freshman Congresspeople would enable us to call for term limits of “6 Years and Out”, and for publicly funded federal elections. Both of these changes would keep the professional politicians and their financial backers on the sidelines for a long, long time.

Let’s do it! (Note to all readers: Please feel free to use this message, with or without attribution, for any purpose.) .

The GOP needs a clearly-stated visionary pro-American agenda based on low-taxes and reduced spending.

That may help, and then again, it may not.

Case in point would be California’s experience with term limits.

Hasn’t seemed to stop the corruption nor the power of the Democrats and left-wing RINOS like Arnold.

I totally agree with your premise. But at the risk of seeming negative, let me ask what would we do if:

(a) There is not a Republican candidate running against the incumbent..... do we then vote for the Democrat non incumbent?

(b)then what do you think would happen if in voting against one's incumbent, it would mean most likely loosing a huge pork-project and thus lots of local jobs and money..... how many locals would likely follow through with this thinking they would loose their job? I know it would be for the good of the nation, but people are selfish when it comes to their personal sacrifice, I am afraid.

(c) so now, the democrats use the above two truths AGAINST US TO GAIN ALL THE SEATS!!!

This is a no-brainer here in Massachusetts.

We have 10 congressmen, 2 senators and one governor...all Democrats.

I would at least like to see a choice on the ballot: NONE OF THE ABOVE.

It won't happen as long as many hold their noses and vote for...

They keep electing the same-o's and expecting a different result.

Saying you will never reelect means they really can do what they want this time.

How about a real take back program whereby we prosecute these congress critters for bribery and make laws that prohibit anyone not a citizen of their district from giving campaign donations to include non-people such as corporations.

Remember, for every 250,000 signatures they receive as letters and emails they get $250,000 from a corporation to ignore your demands.

Publicly funded Federal elections is an idea gone bad.

With Federal money comes Federal rules, and ultimately, total control of who is PERMITTED to run for office.

The old method, of either using one’s own resources, or going to the people and asking for individual contributions, may have its faults, but the candidate always knew who his benefactors were. And responded accordingly.

I agree whole-heartedly with the premise. Now, ... how ya gonna get the people in Massachusetts to not vote for Teddy?

I want to have a torch and pitchfork party on the mall. 100,000 pissed off taxpayers and voters carrying pitchforks and torches (nightime obviously) from the Washington Monument to the steps of Congress.

A bloodless revolution? Wake up in reality. We are in the middle of a bloodless revolution now; the maniacs are taking the country over without a shot being fired. And your idea is based upon free elections being held. If Obama gets in, free elections are over dumbass.
