Ron Paul's presidential campaign is getting cash infusion today from grass roots activists on the internet. The activists plan to get 100,000 people to donate $100 each, boosting the campaign by 10 million dollars in a day.
Whether the goal of 10 million dollars in a day is achieved remains to be seen. The campaign as of 10 PM Sunday night had risen just under 2.8 million for the quarter.
As of Monday, 9:30 AM Eastern time, Pauls campaign has risen over a million dollars bringing the total to over 4.1 million for the quarter.
Pauls campaign raised over 5 million in the third quarter and had over 5 million cash on hand at the start of this quarter.
The one day fund raising push is already a success and it hasnt shown any signs of losing momentum. Pauls campaign had nothing to do with the grass roots effort which makes it even more impressive.
Ron Paul voted against the Iraq war and says he will bring the troops home immediately. Paul seeks to eliminate federal income taxes and wants to reform the monetary system by authorizing competing currencies backed by gold and silver.
Paul also voted against the Patriot Act and has been an outspoken defender of the Bill of Rights.
I had forgotten it was Guy Fawkes day - thanks for the heads up! How sadly fitting for Mr. Paul. He has a surprising number of supporters around here, on both sides.
Me, too. But around here, I see them at homes, businesses and on vehicles, too.
lol, well you’ll appreciate this one:

I wish this fundraiser was on a fri or sat night and i would join them for an hour or two...
btw, looks like we both underestimated the total this day would raise, LOL
Pinging any party mentioned in a post is a fundamental rule of courtesy here. Entry level stuff. Omitting that ping is almost always a function of cowardice or rudeness.
Go Ron!
It’s gotten to the point where I won’t support a candidate if the GOP leadership likes them.
I may have to adopt your thinking when supporting a candidate from now on. Consider the fact that the GOP did NOT support RP in his congressional races.
If/when RP wins or places well these first few primaries, expect the GOP to go after him like never before.
The club for growth challenges a lot of the worst RINOs in the primaries and open seats, throws some of the bums out, pretty good organization:

If I had a nickel for every time you've talked about me or referred to me w/o pinging me...
thanks for the link. Sad, but expected.
You wouldn’t be a nickel ahead.
Are you broke, or just cheap?
Thanks.
Looks like RP is about to hit the 3 million mark.
False dichotomy.
It’s over 3 million!!
I also read that the campaign put in over $300,000 in those "offline" entries which were checks they received over this weekend because some folks don't like using credit cards on the internet. But they mailed checks to arrive in time for this moneybomb and they're still going to be counted in today's total. That was a nice touch by the campaign to get that done.
last updated: 11/05/07 07:21 PM EST total raised today: $2,974,488 current values (online + offline) total at start of day: $3,115,107 total at last update: $6,089,595
Gee, I wonder what they’re all discussing at the other campaign headquarters tonight? LOL.
LOL too.
What they will be saying, but, but the polls say we are ahead, we’re the choice. Yeah, maybe you are ahead in the polls, but the money is not there like it is for RP. McCain better call mom and get her to send him an allowance, before she donates it to RP.
