Disenfranchised Freeper been here 6 years 4 months 3 million hours, 12 days and a leap year
My highly evolved gray matter | 12/31/04 | JoeSixPack1

Posted on 12/31/2004 7:26:52 AM PST by JoeSixPack1

I was once a loney freeper. A freeper without a "1", pleasently picking on user "Ash" daily, now I have a (one)"1". What did I win to become a 'one'?

Back in the days of Teddy Roosevelt, I signed on to FR. (May, 98.) Then somebody hit the wrong button and BOOFF! I was eliminated, disenfranchised, erased from memory. Gone, Capute!

Subsequently, posing as a lurker, I saw an old thread I had started from July, '98. I tried to post to it.

Nothing.

I tried again.

Nothing!

I emailed JimRob. He said my user ID was gone! Not banished, not erased, not booted,, just gone! The mystery is enough to make you cry! I was a "nothing". (Although after this post and with the kitties getting to me that could change)

So being the great and all mighty (JimRob), he gave me a new user ID, pretty much like the old one, except it had a "1".

Years went by. Then sign on dates became the thing to have. This is where I was disenfranchised. I had a 2000 user ID but signed on in '98. The earlier my sign-on date was i assumed the more intelligent I just had to be!

If that wasn't enough, down the road a new user signed on with my old user name and completely ruined my image!! On top of it all, that one old thread which had made me famous was deleted, so I have no proof

I'm doomed! I want a recount!!!! DUH! Call Jesse Jackson, Gloria Allred!! (Get me Ann Coulter's cell number!)

Working on that premise I'll apply to Mensa immediately. Lurked for a few months prior to signing in early November 1998. Attended the March for Justice rally in Washington, DC on October 31 of that year, just days before officially signing on.

Dude--- "Why is your name spelled like that?".

(I always fall into these traps, so go for it!) :-)

......I was thinkin someone would ask. ;) No trap!

It's just an old way of spelling "forty". I used to be able to prove that but the only online dictionary that supported my claim is now a pay service.

It's ok. At least I got a little fame back when Buckhead worked his magic. hehe

I have no clue who or what Quiddom was... he WAS weird though.
Several threads tried to interpret Quiddom 'quatrains' (because they were as hard to read as Nostradamus)

Didn't OwenKellogg post that Dog Gone was Gone? Did you reincarnate as Dog Back? If you sell your screen name, does that include all the vanity posts? Or perhaps it's too late, the expression "Dog Gone" is already in the public domain from overuse, and you can't stop it?

To: Cyber Liberty
Having his thread deleted last night just finally got to him.

I don't get it. "Dog Gone" posted less than 1/2 hour ago.
It's that internal homing device dogs have. Didn't you see Homeward Bound? ;-)

It is a Freeper Requirement that everyone Opus at least once.
Then they return. He will need to change his screen name to Dog Back.

Same thing happened to me but I finally figured out my old password. I still think I have signed up another time prior to Jan 1998. FR would have been a quiet backwater if Buckhead hadn't showed up... Oh Well, if 'tweren't him, it woulda been someone else.

We're forming a club. Don't, you have to think of a GOOD name, and then we'll vote on it. 'Kay? ;-D

I like my real name, just wish it had the original signup date.

I'm kinda partial to Yadda Yadda, Okie Dokie, Yikes, or I could make life easier for those responding to me by using Bozo... "Hey, Bozo, get a clue". Maybe Voice In The Wilderness because I'm a conservative in the SF bay area, or maybe MJ SETI in honor of my first post (I'm trying to track the real MJ SETI down). I got stuck with this monicker because I was afeared of gettin' audited by the Clintoon Administration after all the stories about Carville's hit squad. Now I just wish I could remember my login better, so how about RememberMyLogin or WhatWasMyLogin?

ROFL! Great post!

Well, how about the "What was my Login?" club, then?

I'm thinking of getting my password tatooed somewhere...I'm using my given name for my FReeper name, I doubt I'll forget that. If I do, it will be too late for the password to matter.

As I recall (and I could be wrong) Quiddam spelled the name with an "a."

Okie dokie. I mean, uh, yes that's a good name for a User Error type of club.

Try not to include your password in the Tagline.

They sent your old identity down the "memory hole" just like in 1984, which technically made you an unperson, to use Newspeak.

Doubleplentyungood.

Here's how you find out your Freeper Number:

1. Click on your Freeper name on your ping list.

2. That brings you to your profile page.

3. Click on "Find in Forum" at top.

4. Your Freeper number will appear at the end of the URL in the address box of your browser.

Which makes you: Freeper #1165.
