A stunningly beautiful description of the celibate priesthood - but then what else can we expect from God's stunningly beautiful messenger to Calcutta, to Harvard, and to the world of the late 20th century?

Even though I am Jobim, the real One Note Samba is Sinkspur, who can disregard Mother's explanation of celibacy and continue to harp on what the Church needs to do for its own good.

With all due respect to Protestant ministers who struggle with the entire concept of celibacy in ministry, what I like to most about this letter by St. Tereas of Calcutta is its simplicity, grace and the fact that it is motivated by love and respect for the Catholic priesthood. If the devolution of Christian society has any common denominator, it is snake oil salesmen within the ranks of all denominations offering 'modern' or 'educated' reasons for becoming a little less Christian in tradition, behavior, and practice.

And you are rude for not pinging me when mentioning men in a post.

I respect Mother Teresa's view of celibacy. All of her points are well taken.

Mother Teresa also spoke out against communion in the hand.

Catholics are free to disagree even with saints. They are not infallible in their judgments.
