[history]
So before Saturday’s auction at Becker’s Moving and Storage Warehouse, the four longtime Sacred Heart Cathedral parishioners kept guard over several 12-foot pews that didn’t have scratches or missing legs.

I have a mental image of Bishop Clark in a plaid polyester suit, standing in a warehouse surrounded by church furniture, shouting "C'mon down to Mad Matt's Used Church Furniture Warehouse, where the bargains are HEAVENLY and the prices are LOWER THAN HELL! No interest for 2 years! No money down for 3 months! At these prices, you won't have a prayer if you don't hurry!"

I have a mental image of Bishop Clark in a plaid polyester suit,...Kind of like this?

Bishop Clark is one of the worst of the worst. No surprise that he's so interested in dismantling the history of a Catholic cathedral. Sadly, I think the new and improved interior of Sacred Heart Cathedral will probably look something like this:

Well, since Fr. Richard Vosko is in charge of the Wreckovation, I'd say it's safe to say it will pretty much look like that picture Antonius posted.
To: Antoninus
That is Weakland's wreckovation, isn't it?

I used to play the game, Diablo, which was fun, but ate up too much of my time. The fourth level of the game took you to hell itself and I hated that level because it was so dark and ugly and disgusting. The thing that strikes me is how that monstrosity of Weakland's looks EXACTLY as if it were drawn straight from the hell level of Diablo.
Unbelievably hideous! It is something you would use to frighten little children rather than bring you to love and reverence for Christ. I can only gasp at things like this and say that they look like the sorry product of a twisted diabolical mind.
(sigh)
A bishop!

All thanks to those fearless protectors of the faith, John XXIII, Paul VI, the master of the 'wink-n'-nod', JPII, and the infamous VaticanII participants.
There is much work to be done.

Ugh! I fear the parishoners of Sacred Heart are in for a rude shock.
Thank goodness Vosko wasn't in charge of renovations at my Sacred Heart cathedral. Our church is even more beautiful than it was before the renovations and there is no doubt that it is a Catholic church. I'd say that the overwhelming majority of our parishoners are very happy with the results.

I wonder if the altar will end up as curbstones in the church parking lot?
