While the changes might seem minor, the first revisions the Vatican has made to the mass since 1975 will affect every Roman Catholic who walks forward for communion.
Before they take the bread and wine, they'll have to bow, as a sign of reverence for the Eucharist, the bread and wine Roman Catholics believe becomes the actual body and blood of Christ during the mass.
Catholics also must be quieter during the mass, sitting meditatively in silence before it begins, after the homily, and after they receive communion instead of chatting with neighbors, or whispering to the kids.

I must say the one hymn that actually angers me is "Gather Us In".

Glory and Praise is the most inaccurately titled hymnal ever. It makes CBW III look good by comparison.
To: sinkspur
You seem to have an obsession with homosexuality.
I wonder why.
Three reasons:
1. Because it is just naturally revolting.
2. Because it is destroying my nation and my Church.
3. Because you support it so fervently and consistently.
To: TradicalRC
I see you've been blindsided. Wow, that's for sure. Now I'm wondering when/if I'll be told that I can 'choose' to stand or sit, but must not kneel. And if either/both of the 2 other local RC parishes have 'enacted' this new rule, too. Sigh.

Several anger me. "Lord of the dance" probably does the most.
I very much would like to know if the Archbishop of Portland draws a salary from OCP as publisher-in-cheif or whatever?

The Novus Ordo is much closer to the early celebration of Christ's Eucharist than Trent was.
Really? Clown masses? Gay masses? Banjo masses? New age feel-good liberalism and heresy? Total irreverence and focus on the crowd?
Wow! What a unique and cutting edge historian you are. Thanks for the heads up. I'll go ahead and revise my views on your reliable and perfectly unbiased word, especially since you have posted before that you are "against the Traditional Mass".

I must say the one hymn that actually angers me is "Gather Us In".I've been in 'music ministry' on and off since my early teens. When I first heard this song, early 90's, I thought it was great and I liked the harmony/counter melody that was my part. Then I actually paid attention to the lyrics. Now just the mention of it galls me. Still a catchy melody tho, and that's how it hooks you...

Furthermore, Amchurch Catholics divorce, fornicate and abort at the same rate as the pagans around us. Ahhhh, the sweet progress of the Nervous Disorder Mess and Disastercan II. Not to mention the countless lives destroyed by the gentle, special Sodomite priests.
The NOphiles should be proud.

Seattle Catholic (
http://www.seattlecatholic.com/) is today carrying a link to an article which says Cardinal Arinze has ruled to the effect that the GIRM does not prohibit kneeling when returning to the pew after Communion. If any so called liturgist tells you otherwise, tell them to stuff it. (strong message to follow)

Leaving the mass last weekend, we noticed that, sadly, few people seem to be bothered by taking away the kneeling - it's easier, we heard - or even aware of the reverence that prompted/prompts kneeling.

1. Because it is just naturally revolting.Gosh. When something revolts me, I try to not think about it. Every other post of yours has something to do with homosexuality.
2. Because it is destroying my nation and my Church.
Homosexuals are destroying your nation? How?
3. Because you support it so fervently and consistently.
That, of course, is a damned lie, but, then, you've lied before.
To: sinkspur
How is the Church in disarray?
Well, let's see:
The Sodomites control most of the seminaries, which are nearly empty, many of which have closed down.
Your Amchurch Catholics abort their children at the same rate as the pagans around us.
Your Amchurch Catholics use artificial contraceptives at the same rate as the pagans around us.
Your Amchurch Catholics fornicate at the same rate as the pagans around us.
Your Amchurch Catholics committ adultery at the same rate as the pagans around us.
Your Amchurch Catholics stay away from the sacrament of confession in droves.
Your Amchurch Catholics hardly believe in the real presence in the Blessed Sacrament, which is why they treat Him with such profound disrespect in the Nervous Disorder Messes.
Your Amchurch Catholics, according to YOUR post above, "are woefully ignorant of Scripture, in addition to being woefully ignorant about a lot of other things".
Other than that, gosh, what disarray is she talking about?
To: Thorondir
What "church" do you belong to?
To: Land of the Irish
You don't need an indult for a clown Mass, a Dignity Mass, a Life-Teen Mass, a folk Mass, etc. Only the Tridentine requires an Indult.
Why?
Good questions, my friend.

The Tradmaster (UR) has his hooks in you so deeply you're even using the same words he does.
The woman consistently makes thoughtful and intelligent posts. Give her a break and quit repeating this specious and unwarranted insult. She thinks for herself just fine.
To: Thorondir; Canticle_of_Deborah
She thinks for herself just fine. If she's thinking of jumping to the SSPX, she's lost her mind.
To: Canticle_of_Deborah
As for the SSPX, I know where the door is and if it gets much worse I'll use it. I can't take much more corruption.
Oh, angel, please don't do that. Don't let Satan's minions drive you out of the One Holy Roman Catholic and Apostolic Church. Stay and fight the good fight with us. The evil ones may cause your heart to sink but let that spur you on to persevere.
To: Land of the Irish
Excellent. What's normative about a gay mass?
To: Thorondir
What church do you belong to? The Catholic Church in America, right? Under a Catholic bishop who is in union with the Pope, right?
That's the same Church I belong to.
The Catholic Church in America.
To: Thorondir
What's normative about a gay mass? There's no such thing as a "gay mass." There is just The Mass.
