I saw a documentary on the Discovery Channel that demonstrated that it didn't matter where the nails were positioned on the hands/forearms, since the feet were usually supported by the nail in the feet, and the body's weight rested on the feet It may be irrelevant to the folks at the Discovery Channel, but not to those who have studied His death. Several medical professionals have proven that the nails were driven through his wrists (reason why his thumbs don't show up on the shroud image).
A Physician Analyzes the Crucifixion
Then again, according to Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich, the wounds were in the palms of his hand.
The Wounds in Christ's Hands
And then there is this analysis of Dr. Pierre Barbet's assertions.
Pierre Barbet Revisited
'See my hands and my feet, that it is I myself
.' And when he had said this he showed them his hands and his feet." (Luke 24:39-40). Notice that Jesus asks Thomas and the other Apostles to examine His hands, not His wrists.

It just demonstrates that Gibson was faithful to what is said in the Bible. A great testimony to his film.

Be on the lookout though. Mary stepping on the head of the serpent is apparently "unbiblical."
If any of you are interested, there is an interesting discussion of Gen3:15 and the
Douay-Rheims mistranslation on the
Catholic Information Network (CIN).

Suffered Under Pontius Pilot, was Crusified, Died And Was Buried.
Romans killed Jesus in the name of Cesar. Romans bear the responsibility.

If that thirty seconds is any example, and I know it is, I wonder just how many people will be able to stay for the entire movie, This is not for the faint of heart but I don't think that there will be any embarrismant for having red eyes when leaving the theater.... This will be the movie for the millenium..

I posted in General Interest, and someone replied and suggested I post over here :)
So far I've only watched the low res, and was impressed even with the quality of that.

Romans killed Jesus in the name of Cesar. Romans bear the responsibility. If one is a Christian one believes that all men, on account of their sins, bear the responsibility and are guilty of the death of the Lord.
If one is not a Christian then the only logical conclusion about guilt applies to the Roman officials and functionaries who carried out the crucifixion and the Sanhedrin officials and functionaries who threatened to incite a dangerous riot if the Romans did not comply.

Is there anyone else with the integrity and respect that Mel Gibson has that could make a movie such as this?
And I'm not speaking of faith because you know on the left coast that wouldn't get you a second look.
The timing of the film is interesting to say the least, and the film will be eye-opening to many.
Some things are meant to be, eh?

My view it it's a lesson, being a "sheeple" is not a good thing. In this day and age that's even more important than ever. Many people these days allow themselves to be swept along with "popular" opinion.

Do you think with your study in Middle Eastern languages that you'll be able to undestand some of the dialogue?

I'll admit that I have on rare occasions shed a tear at a movie, but I don't think a trailer ever jerked a tear out of me before.I couldn't have said it better.

I truely believe that this movie will transend any language...What would need to be said that is not understood?
