In Defense Of Oneness Truths By: William Price

Who is God? This is a question that most people ask at least once in their life. Every individual, every person in this world has a burning desire to know who God is, and the characteristics of His life. I used to be a person who believed in the "Trinity" of the Godhead. I believed in One God, but in three persons ; God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit. Then I had came into the truth of who God is, Jesus Christ. But, I allowed myself to return to the lying deception of the doctrine of the Trinity, and tried to defend it mightily. However, the more I tried, the more the Holy Spirit convicted me, and led me back to the truth. Many millions are being held in a lie that has been propagated throughout the centuries. The early church did not believe in the doctrine of the Trinity. They believed that Jesus Christ was the one true and only God. They believed that God came down to earth in the form or manifestation of the Son, taking on the form of a man, born from the womb of a virgin. Not once in the Bible did they say that God had three persons in Him. They always mentioned God as being one. Look at Ephesians 4 :5-6. There is only One God, period. Not three persons in One God, but only one God. Look at 1 Timothy 2 :5, "For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus. " Apostolic believers know this truth. They believe this truth. However, this truth is also refused and disputed by men and women who claim that they know the Bible. Could it be that they do not know the Bible as well as they think? Now, let us go into the proof that Jesus is God. 1 Timothy 3 :16 states, "And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness : God was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Preached among the Gentiles, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory." Now this verse, piece by piece, gives the clearest description of who God is in the New Testament. Jesus is God was manifested in the flesh according to John 1 :1 and 1:14. Jesus was God justified in the Spirit, when the Spirit came upon Him in Matthew 3 :17-17. Jesus was seen by angels according to Matthew 4:11. Jesus was and is God preached among the Gentiles throughout the entirety of the New Testament. Jesus was God believed on in the world according to the books of Acts. Jesus was received up in glory according to Acts 1 :9-11. The Bible predicts that Jesus is God in Isaiah. Isaiah 9 :6 states, "For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." The name of Jesus will be called the name of the Mighty God, and the Everlasting Father. Many though, still try to make a distinction between the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Jesus took care of this one Himself. He told Philip in John 14 :9, "He who has seen me has seen the Father;" . Jesus had also stated in John 10 :30, "I and My father are one." He did not say that they were in agreement, or did He state that they were separate. He said that they were one and the same. Thomas, after Jesus resurrection, stated that Jesus was Lord and God in John 20 :28. The Bible, later on in Jude 25, "To God our Savior, Who alone is wise, Be glory and majesty, Dominion and power, Both now and forever, Amen." This states that God is our Savior, and since Jesus is our Savior, that means Jesus is God. In Revelation 1 :8, Jesus speaks to John from Heaven, and states, ""I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End," says the Lord, "who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty. ""And since God alone is the Almighty, that proves that Jesus is the one and true God. Yet, some will still state, "Well, what about the Holy Spirit?" The Bible's answer to this question can be found several places throughout scripture. In John 4 :24, Jesus states, "God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and in truth." 1 Corinthians 3:16 states, "Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?" Later on, in verse 6:19, the Bible states that we are the temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in us. This shows that the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God, the Spirit of Jesus. When we go back to Ephesians 4 :4-6, the Bible shows that God dwells in us. This is the Spirit of Jesus, the Holy Spirit, not a separate person, but the Spirit of Jesus. Really, Jesus dwells in us. The Spirit of Jesus is not it, but the Spirit of Jesus, thus Jesus. The doctrine of Oneness is the Bible doctrine the original Apostles believed and taught. It is based on Bible, and has too much proof not to be the real doctrine of the Bible. The Bible warns about receiving those who do not preach this, for they do not preach the Gospel. Many will say something against the doctrine, but the Bible says what it means, and means

I guess that all of these verses were just mistakes, right? I mean, if the Father IS the Son, these verses would be kind of silly, or maybe they are just pretending?

Matthew 11:27
"All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the
Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and
those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.

Matthew 16:17
Jesus replied, "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not
revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven.

Matthew 16:27
For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father's glory with his angels,
and then he will reward each person according to what he has done.

Matthew 18:10
"See that you do not look down on one of these little ones. For I tell you
that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven.
11 The Son of Man came to save what was lost.

Matthew 24:36
"No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor
the Son, but only the Father.

Matthew 28:19
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the
name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

Mark 8:38
If anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful
generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his
Father's glory with the holy angels."

Mark 13:32
"No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor
the Son, but only the Father.

Luke 1:32
He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God
will give him the throne of his father David,

Luke 9:26
If anyone is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed
of him when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the
holy angels.

Luke 10:22
"All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows who
the Son is except the Father, and no one knows who the Father is except
the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him."

John 3:35
The Father loves the Son and has placed everything in his hands.

John 5:19
Jesus gave them this answer: "I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing
by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because
whatever the Father does the Son also does.

John 5:20
For the Father loves the Son and shows him all he does. Yes, to your
amazement he will show him even greater things than these.

John 5:21
For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son
gives life to whom he is pleased to give it.

John 5:22
Moreover, the Father judges no one, but has entrusted all judgment to the
Son,

John 5:23
that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not
honor the Son does not honor the Father, who sent him.

John 5:26
For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son to have life
in himself.

John 6:27
Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life,
which the Son of Man will give you. On him God the Father has placed his
seal of approval."

John 6:40
For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in
him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day."

John 8:28
So Jesus said, "When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will
know that I am and that I do nothing on my own but speak just what the
Father has taught me.

John 14:13
And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring
glory to the Father.

Acts 13:33
he has fulfilled for us, their children, by raising up Jesus. As it is written
in the second Psalm: " 'You are my Son; today I have become your Father.

Galatians 4:6
Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the
Spirit who calls out, "Abba, Father."

1 Timothy 1:2
To Timothy my true son in the faith: Grace, mercy and peace from God
the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.

Titus 1:4
To Titus, my true son in our common faith: Grace and peace from God the
Father and Christ Jesus our Savior.

Hebrews 1:5
For to which of the angels did God ever say, "You are my Son; today I have
become your Father"? Or again, "I will be his Father, and he will be my Son"?

Hebrews 5:5
So Christ also did not take upon himself the glory of becoming a high
priest. But God said to him, "You are my Son; today I have become your
Father.[ 5:5 Or have begotten you] "

Hebrews 7:3
Without father or mother, without genealogy, without beginning of days or
end of life, like the Son of God he remains a priest forever.

2 Peter 1:17
For he received honor and glory from God the Father when the voice came
to him from the Majestic Glory, saying, "This is my Son, whom I love;
with him I am well pleased."

1 John 1:3
We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may
have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with
his Son, Jesus Christ.

1 John 2:22
Who is the liar? It is the man who denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a
man is the antichrist ;he denies the Father and the Son.

1 John 2:23
No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son
has the Father also.

1 John 2:24
See that what you have heard from the beginning remains in you. If it
does, you also will remain in the Son and in the Father.

1 John 4:14
And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the
Savior of the world.

1 John 5:1
Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and
everyone who loves the father loves his child as well.

2 John 1:3
Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, the
Father's Son, will be with us in truth and love.

2 John 1:9
Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ
does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father
and the Son.

So, if I actually open up the scriptures to you in a defense of the Godhead, are you going to run like all the Oneness Pentecostal heretics I've faced or are you man(?) enough to stand while I carve up this screed for the benefit of the saints?

Mark 9:7-8

7 Then a cloud formed, overshadowing them, and a voice came out of the cloud, "This is My beloved Son, listen to Him!"
8 All at once they looked around and saw no one with them anymore, except Jesus alone.

John 12:37 "But though He had performed so many signs before them, yet they were not believing in Him."
John 20:30 " Therefore many other signs Jesus also performed in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book..."

Sure glad they left in the sign of ventriloquism, otherwise I'd never believe.

This is Armstrongism. There's no seat for the Holy Spirit.

Nice post. The bible clearly teaches that the Holy Spirit is God's presence and power on earth and not part of the Godhead in heaven.

Don't let the ridicule get to you. The people who ridicule are the ones who can never prove their points through scripture...so they use other methods to turn minds.

Posts #13 and #15 contain Scripture which refute oneness malarkey. We have shown you repeatedly Scripture showing the deity of the Holy Spirit, yet you cling to your Armstrongism.

Perhaps a visual aid will help you and our oneness friend.
