OBSERVATIONS:
[1] There seems to be a significantly reduced number of Protestant Threads (KJV Only being the exception for sure) in the FR Religion Forum.
[2] There seems to be a reduced number of FR Protestant posts in the Religion Forum.
This thread is a place to discuss these observations.

Kevin, what happened to the thread a week or two ago, where I was "dared" by the Calvinists to say I disagreed with Mormons? Remember? The one where we were being civil? Did it get pulled?

The religious forum is good for learning, some bash, I've done it before, I try not to anymore, it does no good, as far as the mormons go, who cares? Leave them to themselfs, overlook their posts, as far as I'm concerned their not here. Yea Mack, i think you got that right. i never saw any point in bashing, you know why? Real simple, we end up exchanging shots over something that was not true anyway, like (only as an example) "Praying to Mary". Why "exchange fire" with a Catholic over a belief that (s)he does not have? The one thing that this forum is good for is teaching each one of us about our own faith, by challenging us about what we do believe. If it is taken away i shall miss it.
As far as the rules go, I can only do as they apply to me, the rest, its their problem.
i just can't stand it when the rules change depending on who the poster is.

LOL. I'm serious, I lost track of that thread. Did it get pulled or did it just die of loneliness?

I thought the slowdown in Religious posts was due to some of the more prolific Catholic posters (apologists) giving up Free Republic for Lent.Nope protestants do not "do lent"
I am not worried this is an all Catholic all Mormon all the time..Protestants are not welcome

I don't know, I think it's still there. Well, if it didn't get pulled then it proves the point that there is a difference between discussing things and baiting and bashing.
I was told that if I dared to disagree with a Mormon tenet that I would get the thread or post pulled. Or that I might even get a timeout or banning.
Instead, I spoke in no uncertain terms my disagreement with Mormon positions. Without bashing. And I am still here.

Here's what happens. A Mormon will seek to eliminate anyone that they consider a threat and the threat to them is in the form of those individuals that know the Old Testament, The New Testament, Hebrew, Greek and theology in general and in particular. When they are confronted with real and learned knowledge they feel threatened and then the mask of niceness falls away. Then they begin to make claims that they are being attacked. If they can't stand the heat... well you know the rest. Why the hell are they here then?

I'm on my way out of work.
Going to the church with the kids tonight to make breads for baskets for the old folks that can't get to church.
Rallys for the Troops on the weekends. Woo Hoo.
Have a great night!

You'd think religious forums would be more friendly than this one has been. The Neverending thread is a prime example of a general forum chat room..there is a little religious discussion, but mostly mostly small talk..a fine example of the stockholm syndrome..
Was your church friendly at the Council of Trent, or when they burned heretics..or do you think they defended the their doctrine?
To: SoothingDave
And I am still here. Do you have to keep bringing that up? :)

Not that my opinion matters, but I feel that there are too many PC people masquerading as conservatives.

Or they feel threatened by people that know the Mormon history? They don't want the sermons given by their own prophets, Joseph Smith,Brigham Young, and others to be read by those they are trying to convert.
To: PayNoAttentionManBehindCurtain
Do you have to keep bringing that up? :) LOL. And champion of the NES basketball pool as well. :-)

we teach them Hebrew, Greek everything we know and they hate us for it because it does not agree with what they want us to believe. I come here to share knowledge and to have a good time, which I always do in spite of them.

Was your church friendly at the Council of Trent, or when they burned heretics..or do you think they defended the their doctrine? We;ve determined, in this day and age, it is simpler to just sit quietly and let people burn themselves.
