OBSERVATIONS:
[1] There seems to be a significantly reduced number of Protestant Threads (KJV Only being the exception for sure) in the FR Religion Forum.
[2] There seems to be a reduced number of FR Protestant posts in the Religion Forum.
This thread is a place to discuss these observations.

I don't want to see anyone trashed.
What about Bill, and Hillary Clinton?
To: Jim Robinson
Why do you have to bash anyone?Bashing was once called apologitics..be prepared to have an answer for all men. As long as it is not a personal slur or insult, and it centers on the doctrine or history..it should not be considered "personal"

Look, the moderators do not come into this forum to cause problems. They do not come in here looking for posts to pull. They are called in by the victims of the abuse. If you do not want moderators here, it's really quite simple. Do not post anything that will hurt someone to the point he would complain about it.

Do not post anything that will hurt someone to the point he would complain about it. Do you realize how much that sounds like the politics of victimology exercised by the political "PC" crowd?
To: Jim Robinson
They are called in by the victims of the abuse. I've been a victim of abuse Jim. And I've called the moderators and had posts pulled.
You say some have made a career of bashing Mormonism.
Likewise, some have made a career out of playing the victim.
To: ksen
Like I said, some people seem to be intent on bashing Mormons. They want to post quotes, etc, simply to get the Mormon bashing session started. Same goes for those who want to bash Catholics. Find a quote or an article to post and let the bashing commence. No thanks. Not interested.

I thought the slowdown in Religious posts was due to some of the more prolific Catholic posters (apologists) giving up Free Republic for Lent.
They'll be back, don't worry :=)

All I'm asking, and all I've ever asked is to keep it civil. It's that simple, folks. Keep it civil and maybe we would all learn a thing or two from each other. The Neverending Story started out pretty ugly and has survived it's share of bashing in all directions. Now days, things are discussed ovewr there in a (slightly) more civilized manner (with the exception of Big Mack ;o) )
You'd think religious forums would be more friendly than this one has been.

PING for an interesting read.
To: PayNoAttentionManBehindCurtain
Agreed. I haven't peeked at the Religious forum for the past few weeks myself due to the interest in the war.
I hope all is well with you and Mack :-)

As long as you don't go overboard it's fine
Great, I don't feel that I go overboard. You will never find me saying hateful things about Mormons. I have copied sermons from Joseph Smith, and Brigham Young from LDS websites? Is that allowed in the debate? I have posted Bible scriptures that contradict the doctrine. Is that okay?
What about when I get fired up over a person bashing the Jews? Can I debate them even if they are a Mormon?
I can handle it when they say I am god-forsaken, Satan-spawned heathens like yourself. I just like to discuss doctrine of all kinds.
I don't make it a career to bash Mormons. If you check, you will see from what I post that I have many issues that I like to discuss.Thats why I started coming to Free Republic.
To: RnMomof7
The PC crowd equate apologetics with religion bashing.

Well, whatever. It's been the rule here since day one of Free Republic. Each and every poster here agreed to the terms when they registered for posting privileges. We give a lot of leeway here so as not to stifle the debate, however, if posters continue to stretch their rhetoric too far beyond the reasonable limits, then they will eventually receive a reminder from me. And, yes, I do believe that trashing someone because of his religious beliefs is persecution and I will always side with the "victim" of said persecution.
