No. It simply has nothing to do with war.
"The most awesome results of this war" will be the freedom of the Iraqi people. This is doubtless one of the most important events in this young man's life, but I simply think it is hyperbole to look at it beyond that.

Of course had the guy been converted to [FR 5TH], then it would have been "one of the most awesome results of this war." It is not the "time" it is the place..this is out doors in the name of the Father , the Son and the Holy Spirt" a baptism recognized by all professing Christians

knock it off. Fair enough. But I hereafter lay claim to the title of "first poster ever warned not to discuss the weather in the Religion forum."

You people remind me of a sunday school class full of 12-year-old boys.

You people remind me of a sunday school class full of 12-year-old boys. As for me and my house, we'll accept the comparison as a compliment :)
Matthew 17:3
"And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
18:4
Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
18:5
And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.

Twelve year olds aren't little children.
In most cultures, they are young men.
In my experience, most twelve year old boys attend sunday school class because they have to. They typically are less interested in religion, and more interested in how much of their butts they can show, while PRETENDING to be pious.
"Who me?" is their refrain.
Just like you people.

I'm sorry, but I'm not permitted even to discuss the local weather over any given congregation or stake, let alone the behavior in them.

So, you force young mormon children to attend SS?
Or are your mormon children not included in the most?

I dont know much about you, so perhaps I am out of line, but I do wonder why you are so contrary about this wonderful picture of a soldier, openly and publicly being baptised....
Sometimes during the most dire circumstances, the Lord will draw those He loves, to strengthen them and provide for them...at least that is how I see it...
War is awful and horrendous, tho sometimes necessary...and if many are drawn to the Lord, in this horrendous and scarey time, then yes, it is one good and awesome result of the war...
To: drstevej
Now let's not have any of that offensive "weather talk" here, boys...

I am not. It is just that a baptism is about one's personal relationship with God, whereas warfare is a human conflagration.
The "awesome result" of this war will be Iraqi freedom.
You might also consider that this freedom may lead to increased liberties for the Christian minority in Iraq. That would be a good candidate for "the most awesome result of the war."
It's simply a matter of perspective. I am not criticizing.
