Not traditional, not necessary, and not particularly inspiring.

Do you leave out the Fatima prayer at the end of each decade? It isn't necessary, it isn't traditional and I would posture that it is not as "particularly inspiring" as the events of Christ's life that the luminous mysteries depict.

The Fatima prayer was given to us by Our Lady herself at Fatima. She instructed us to say it. If she feels it is necessary then it is necessary.

"Oh my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of Hell and lead all souls to Heaven, especially those most in need of Thy Mercy."

You feel this isn't necessary or inspiring? How can you say something so disturbing as this? Do you know better than the Blessed Mother?

My objection is to the deformation of the Rosary's 800 year-old traditional arrangement by modernists seeking to give the devotion a more "Christological"--and less "Marian"--emphasis. In other words, the tamperers who can never leave well enough alone, seek once again to appeal to the Protestant senisbility at the expense of the Catholic--just as they did with the Novus Ordo.
