The Fatima prayer was given to us by Our Lady herself at Fatima. She instructed us to say it. If she feels it is necessary then it is necessary.

"Oh my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of Hell and lead all souls to Heaven, especially those most in need of Thy Mercy."

You feel this isn't necessary or inspiring? How can you say something so disturbing as this? Do you know better than the Blessed Mother?

Don't want to get into a ridiculous fight over such a great meditative prayer form. I'm sure you all can agree that the Holy Rosary has went through developments throughout the Centuries. These Luminous Mysteries are a great addition! Nor do I think that the Pope in any way intended that this "Fatima Prayer" be stricken.

Anyway, I've heard that this prayer was also given to the Nun at Akito (sp) in Japan in the 70's. Anyone else know is this is true?
