If you could have a different past, a different upbringing, would you? You may not have had a blessed childhood, but you can have it now. You can actually change the past. In Exodus 20:12 it says, "Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee." We are commanded to bless our parents. This is the first commandment with the promise that we will be blessed for doing it. Perhaps you are saying, "I had an unhappy childhood. I had a painful past. I can't bless my parents."
You must bless your parents, not just for their sake, but for your own. If you bless your parents, you will have blessed your past. You must bless where you came from in order to be blessed in where you are going. God promises to work all things in your life out for good now that you love Him. This includes your past. If you can give thanks for your hard times growing up, then you can bless your past. And if you have a blessed past you will be free to move onto a blessed future.
TODAY'S MISSION
What event from your past is keeping you from moving closer to the Lord? Today, bring that situation to the Lord, ask Him to bless it and you bless it also by taking a positive step to bless.
God Bless This Man! Some of us VRWC volunteers think freedom is worth fighting for. |

Who was it that said, "If you have one foot in yesterday and one foot in tomorrow, you're pissin' on today"? ;^)
