I love St. Gertrude. I have a pewter statuette of her on my dashboard to remind me to pray for the Holy Souls. (My son Michael says I have the entire Communion of Saints on my dashboard). Well, they are our constant companions in prayer.
Eternal Father, I offer You the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus Christ, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the Holy Souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, those in the Universal Church, in my home, and in my family. Amen.

O Sacred Heart of Jesus, fountain of eternal life, Your Heart is a glowing furnace of Love. You are my refuge and my sanctuary.
O my adorable and loving Savior, consume my heart with the burning fire with which Yours is aflamed. Pour down on my soul those graces which flow from Your love. Let my heart be united with Yours. Let my will be conformed to Yours in all things. May Your Will be the rule of all my desires and actions. Amen.

Today at Mass the priest emphasized that St. Gertrude the Great started praying to the Sacred Heart many years before St. Margaret Mary Alcoque (sp) made the prayer so popular.
