1. I will not justify the counsel of president Hinkley.
2. I will speak with Heavenly Father each night on my own and with my eternal companion.
3. I will read 1/2 hour each day from the Book of Mormon.
4. Before I cast judgement on someone I will first think of that person as a child of God and one who is my brother/sister.
5. My faith is that of Joe Smith and Nephi.
6. I will pray for missionary experiences each day.
7. I will tell my wife 'I love you' everyday.
8. I will neglect my favorite sins.
9. I will be more optimistic with my surroundings.
10. I will be charitable
11. I will not cuss.
12. I am courageous.
13. I am intelligent and well-spoken.
14. I am healthy and happy.
15. I am a good leader and example to my friends.
1. Why is 'not justifying the counsel of president Hinkley' the top priority for 'spiritual abundance'? I find this very odd. Does 'not justifying Hinck' mean that a Mormon must blindly obey all the edicts of Hinck and by doing so 'spiritual abundance' will flow? I noticed ole Hinck ranks a notch above the Heavenly Father.
2. I see that reading the BOM gets a 1/2 hour a day and the Bible gets zip. Perhaps the Bible is just another interesting history book?
3. I see the faith of Joe and Nephi outweigh Jesus. Wait a minute, Jesus isn't even mentioned. Perhaps Jesus is just another minor prophet?
4. What's with the 'Stewart Smalley' affirmations in #12-15? Does 'spiritual abundance' come from within oneself or from God? Does repeating some mantra about how good oneself is somehow wake God to that fact?
I have no idea if this is a common creed among Mormons but it sure is telling. Why continue the act of pretending to be Christian and why don't you just start calling yourselves Smithians?
For Joseph Smith and Brigham Young that was full time work..
We are to pray over every thing even the words of the Lord Servants, we don't blindly follow. We get a conformation from the Holy Spirit on the council that is given to us.
When reading the Book of Mormon there are footnotes of the Bible which we also read and what is also written in the Bible dictionary for a better clarification. So reading the is really includes all of our standard works.
Our faith is of Jesus Christ, so I have not a clue why the unknown person if LDS would reply like this.
It is the Spirit of the Lord and keeping the Lord commandments that enables one to over come temptation.
No matter how much an individual wants to behave it is impossible with out submitting to the Lord (being humble) So the Lord is able to bless you with strength.
If one is honoring their convenants the Spirit of the Lord is also able stilleth the tongue, from being offensive. It is a wonderful feeling not to lose one temper nor have an urge too!
It is the opposition that is able to cause fireworks in the home if one is slothful in keeping their convenants.
I assume that the confirmation from the Holy Spirit is a feeling. What happens if one of the 'Lord Servants' gives some message and you feel it is wrong. What do you do then?

If you knew the person why did you acknowledge it?
How do you know this person is an Elder?
I think your church sounds lovely.
