Here's the latest big news sources are telling Catholic World News. And note that this is coming from a lot of diverse places.
Perhaps as soon as Tuesday, a new archbishop of Boston or co-adjutor archbishop will be appointed. And the two names we're hearing most frequently are Archbishop Edward O'Brien of the USA Military Archdiocese and Archbishop Charles Chaput of Denver.
Note that these are rumors and we have not confirmed it yet, but it's interesting nonetheless.
UPDATE: Archbishop O'Brien has flatly denied that he is the guy and would say nothing even about the whether the rumor is true. That doesn't mean Chaput is the guy, either. It could be someone else or no one. If it happens tomorrow, I should know by 8 am.

Interesting developments?
We need someone here in Boston to fill the authoritive vacuum that has been created... lots of things are happening because no one seems to be in charge.

Please Lord, send someone who will not be afraid to speak up to the Kennedys, the Kerrys, the BC crowd, the VOTF people and the dissenters that are rampant here in Boston. There is such a vacuum of authority now and things are worse than usual, I think. This weekend, at my parish, there is a "parish mission" put on by invited speakers Fr. John Burchill, OP and Sr. Barbara Metz, SNDdeN, the writers of "The Enneagram and Prayer." Scary stuff, IMO.

Episcopal appointments are made on Tuesdays.
However, appointments are NEVER made unless the see is vacant.
When Law is "promoted" to Rome, then I would expect this to happen.
Coadjutors are not named unless the resident bishop requests one (Law may have).
Let's see what happens.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if Archbishop Chaput could be your leader? That would really be a blessing. Let's hope it happens, and let's hope he can be above the temptations that power is going to naturally bring, whomever he may be. V's wife.

This guy Bettinelli is an editor for CWN, so the rumor must be fairly OK or he wouldn't have posted it.
What would a Coadjutor do? And why do they exist?
I know why I'm saying the rosary for tonight, that's for sure.

From your computer keys to God's Holy Ears. :-)

What would a Coadjutor do? And why do they exist? Coadjutors are typically appointed when bishops are ill. Bishop Galante is the coadjutor in Dallas to Grahmann, but he was forced on Grahmann after the Rudy Kos fiasco. Grahmann is only 72, and he shows signs of staying until he's 75 and is forced to retire; he and Galante don't get along AT ALL.
I don't think a coadjutor will be appointed.
As I said, I'll be surprised if this happens. Typically this kind of stuff doesn't "leak out." But maybe Law's going to get kicked upstairs while someone else comes in.
Chaput's a good man, but, from what I've read, he's rather vain. Even though he's a religious, he likes expensive suits, and has an extensive wine collection.
I don't have a problem with either one of those, but I do have a problem that they get into the press in Denver.

What's with Galante? He was calling a well-known dissident theologian "Charlie" the other night on a Channel 2 program. I think politeness would be more appropriate than familiarity.

Was that Charles Curran? Maybe he knows him. They're about the same age. Sometimes these guys forget where they are.

Yeh, it was Curran. I guess it a manifestation of the old school tie thing--once a priest etc.

The Enneagram is more than scary. Stay away from that like the plague, because it is a spiritual plague with origins in occult magic and Islam.

Bishop Galante ....aka Bishop Jabba the Hut. He should never have been coadjutor of Dallas.

Thanks, Siobhan. I never heard of "enneagram" in my life until today. I am shocked and very sad that priests and nuns go around teaching this satanistic stuff and get away with it. I got the parish bulletin advertising the parish mission next weekend and it said the leaders would be Burchill and Metz. So I did a google search and found out about their book on enneagram and prayer and way of thinking. The parish mission doesn't mention any of this stuff, these two are supposed to use the theme "With What Great Love You Have Loved Us." Sounds benign, maybe these two have changed their pagan ways, I dunno. I hate to be seeing conspiracy in everything, but in my parish, it's kind of hard not to think that way. They ignore me asking about having a family rosary once a month, but pagan theologians are welcomed with open arms (and with the parishioners money, these guys don't work for free!). I am absolutely certain that the pastoral associate nun and probably the parish priest scheduled and requested these two wackjobs, in full knowledge of what they espouse.
I'll probably have to go to the mission (rosary beads in hand), since I like to be able to question the priest and nun (pastoral associate - highly paid, she told me - our money again) and know what I'm talking about. I just like to let them know that I will keep on being a pain in the neck by asking for beautiful Latin hymms during Mass, a rosary, Eucharistic Adoration and central placement of the Tabernacle, among other things. I'm the pebble in their sandals.
Maybe (wishful thinking) someone like Chaput would put the kybosh on this crap.

I like the "jabba the hut" analogy... pretty funny!
If this is the same guy I remember from Dallas, he was kind of like one of the (bad) guys from Goodfellas.
Oh Lord! I have a lot to answer for at the Pearly Gates.
To: american colleen
I think Chaput would shake them all so hard that they would leave the Archdiocese and head for safer waters like Joliet or Cleveland -- where they can embrace the heresy du jour and dance naked in the trees...
Keep asking the questions, Colleen. It is frontline in the trenches sort of work, but Christ is counting on all of us to do our part. And He will equip us and protect us. The other part of this for me is to remain focused on Our dear Lord Jesus Christ, and to know that our Blessed Mother and ALL the saints in paradise are praying right beside each of us as we step out to stop the tide of evil from sweeping through holy Mother Church.
Good night, sweet dreams, and God bless!
