For your information.

As for those catholics who are looking to gain a deeper appreciation of their faith, you may want to consider watching EWTN:

8pm Sunday - Fr. Corapi explains the Catholic Catechism.

Fr. Corapi was once a self made millionaire who lost it all. His life was turned upside down when he went from wealth to homelessness. As he sat on a bench across from the building where his business had once been, he felt totally lost. A woman passing by, tapped him on the shoulder, shot him a big smile and assured him that all would be well.

To this day, he attributes that stranger with saving his life. He ended up in a men's shelter run by a religious order. On an impulse, he asked to go to confession. Once inside the confessional, he poured his heart out and felt this overwhelming rush of love. He knew then and there that he was called to serve God. Here is a brief biography:

Through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Father Corapi was drawn from millionaire status ("Filled with the desire to be 'somebody' he had embraced the promises of the world. From athletics (High school football, blackbelt in Karate) to soldiering (a green beret) to millionaire businessman, his life became a string of successes that left him flat and empty.) back to the Church and Holy Piesthood. Eleven years a religious and four university degrees later (including a doctorate in Sacred Theology) he was ordained in Rome by the Holy Father, Pope John Paul II. Following his first Mass over the bones of St. Peter in Rome, the Holy Father told Fr. Corapi to, "Go back to America, where I need you." Fr. Corapi is an authority on the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and has spoken widely on this topic, to include a weekly series on EWTN. His superiors have discerned that he has the gift of "Apostolic Preaching" (teaching the truths of the Faith with such authority it brings the hardest of hearts closer to God).

If you have never heard Fr. Corapi speak, you will want to watch at least one episode. You will be hooked.

Fr.Corapi is a wonderful priest and a brilliant homilist. If he ever gives a retreat here in the Deep South, I hope to have the opportunity to attend it.

I agree! He is the guest speaker at a fundraiser for a local catholic school near Albany. I can't find anyone to go with me, so I plan to attend alone. Wouldn't miss this opportunity for the world!

How God works miracles in people's life when He's invited in.

Please place me on your bump list in the future. Thanks for posting this. I'd love to see John Paul II's visit to the Shrine of the Divine Mercy.

Has he resumed his duties following his heart bypass operation?

It would seem so. He will be conducting a conference at the Shrine of te North American Martyrs in Auriesville, NY on 9/27 @7:30pm and 9/28, from 8am to 8pm. Then, he is scheduled to speak at a fundraising dinner for St. Mary's School in Waterford, NY. The dinner will be held on Sunday, Sep. 29 @ 3:30pm at the Desmond Americana Hotel. Tickets are $50.

The conference in Auriesville is a bargain - 2 days for only $18!.
