Good grief, what are you doing, going through every dissenting article you can find from the last decade and posting it to a non-Catholic forum?

Thank you, narses.

(Randy Engel is one of my heroes ... nice to see her mentioned.)

It's enough to make one weep.

***"Participation through gestures and posture should be strongly encouraged in Masses with children with due regard for age and local custom."***

What's next? A mosh pit at mass for stoners? Macarena mass for the Latin Americans? Clogging masses for mountain folk?

Truth is stranger than fiction....

I was asked about the replacement of the Crucifix in favor of the statues of the Risen Christ and found this article. This was just a few years ago, does that age make it less worth discussion? Ir is it dissent per se that offends you? I assure you that wasn't my intent. I can remove you from my ping list if you want. Maryz kindly explained the ping list to me and shared her list, but certainly if the issues raised are not of interest to you I wouldn't want to be a bother.

In 1964, the renowned British author Evelyn Waugh, disturbed by the "progressive" course adopted by Vatican II, lamented that proponents of change in the liturgy then being imposed had been "with us in parts of the U.S.A., and northern Europe for a generation. We had looked upon them as harmless cranks who were attempting to devise a charade of 2nd Century habits. We had confidence in the abiding Romanità of our Church. Suddenly we find the cranks in authority."

He may have had a point.

One eastern USA Diocese advertises for vocations on MTV. Or at least used to.

After the homo-sex abuse settlements, which dioceses have enough money around to pay for MTV commercials? Who is making these decisions?

I can almost understand the SSPX'ers when I read this kind of tragicomedy.

It makes it highly likely that, on a news forum, it was discussed within the period of the last several years. This is not news, it is another in a line of your postings of articles encouraging schismatic sensibilities. Vennari, along with a handful of other schismatic and quasi schismatic journalists who promise to resist the Pope to his face, is hardly a good source for anything. From what I have seen in the last couple days you have posted:
(1) this early 1999 article from one resistor/schismatic/whatever he is whining about the Mass; (2) a 1996 article complaining about Communion in the hand; and (3) a 2002 article (a recent one!) complaining about Assisi.
It seems to be a pattern of dissent that you are encouraging, and that I disagree with.
Ir is it dissent per se that offends you? I assure you that wasn't my intent. I can remove you from my ping list if you want. Maryz kindly explained the ping list to me and shared her list, but certainly if the issues raised are not of interest to you I wouldn't want to be a bother.
What bothers me is trolling for schismatics, which from all outward signs is what you appear to be doing.

By the way, since Vennari seems so concerned with Pius’ warnings:
"Today, thanks to the Vatican II revolution, Pius warnings have been flagrantly disregarded by Church authorities."
I’ll add this, also from Pius XII and Mediator Dei, at least from parts of it conveniently ignored by Vennari and fans, probably because Pius makes it explicit that his warnings are directed to those like Vennari who would set themselves above the Church authorities who have the rightful power to change the Mass. Speaking of the Mass, Pius XII said:
22. As circumstances and the needs of Christians warrant, public worship is organized, developed and enriched by new rites, ceremonies and regulations, always with the single end in view, "that we may use these external signs to keep us alert, learn from them what distance we have come along the road, and by them be heartened to go on further with more eager step; for the effect will be more precious the warmer the affection which precedes it."[25] Here then is a better and more suitable way to raise the heart to God. Thenceforth the priesthood of Jesus Christ is a living and continuous reality through all the ages to the end of time, since the liturgy is nothing more nor less than the exercise of this priestly function.

. . . .

49. From time immemorial the ecclesiastical hierarchy has exercised this right in matters liturgical. It has organized and regulated divine worship, enriching it constantly with new splendor and beauty, to the glory of God and the spiritual profit of Christians. What is more, it has not been slow--keeping the substance of the Mass and sacraments carefully intact--to modify what it deemed not altogether fitting, and to add what appeared more likely to increase the honor paid to Jesus Christ and the august Trinity, and to instruct and stimulate the Christian people to greater advantage.[47]

It is the hierarchy that choses when to add or subtract from the liturgy, not Pope Vennari.

Vennari also ignores that Cardinal Ottaviani, whose intervention he greatly relies on here, made that intervention before the final version of the Novus Ordo was issued. Once the Pope clarified some things and issued the final version Ottaviani repudiated that intervention.

As previously stated, Vennari is not reliable. His comments don’t get any more accurate after these.

Dominus Vobiscum
