I respect Dr. Dobson very much. I have read his work and he has given me a great deal of help in raising my children thusfar, particularly with a child as strong-willed as my oldest daughter is. I think both sides should keep in mind what he says about GOOD CHRISTIANS drawing different conclusions. Let us please all remember that we are all brothers and sisters in Christ and co-heirs with Him. Even when my children fight like cats and dogs some days, we all come together at the same table at the end of the day in fellowship.

I agree Fru. We are all brothers and sisters in Christ.
I wish we could all differentiate between "ideas about the bible that we're pondering" and "ideas that we're sorta firm on, but are still considering" and "doctrine that we teach" and "doctrine that all of historic Christianity affirms from all time." (doctrinal certainty scale 1 to 4, 4 being highest certainty.)
I'd place the arminian/calvinist debate in the 2 to 3 area, but some attack the very process of thinking things through.
When that happens I just go on the offensive.

Hey Fru, let's put the part you mention in bold and centered print so it isn't missed.
Dr. Dobson realizes many good Christians have drawn different conclusions regarding this issue. He feels it is an honest difference in understanding on the part of equally committed people who are seeking the truth through imperfect eyes. "We see through a glass darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known." (I Cor. 13:12)

Mr. Dobson is a great disappointment in this article. He is ignoring such an obvious truth in Scripture: God's sovereignty.
