This has been running through my mind for the last couple of days.
Will you join with me to say a Rosary each day this week and throughout the USCCB conference in Texas that The Holy Spirit will provide guidance and courage for the Bishops during this difficult time?
Here is a prayer from another thread. Please feel free to post prayers, thoughts, about the USCCB meeting.
From another thread:
"In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit...
"Immaculate Mary, most Holy Mother of God and of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we the people of the United States of America at this historic moment stand before you in a humbled condition of love, loyalty, affection, and thankfulness. To your Immaculate Heart we recommit and dedicate ourselves throughout the entire American nation.
To your Son Jesus Christ we pledge to serve His teaching, His church, and to work for His kingdom on earth.
O Mary, to you do we flee for protection. Surround the American family with your maternal care; enfold us in your arms. Give to this American land, built on the blood and tears of so many faithful forebears, a peaceful and praiseworthy existence in truth, love, justice, and freedom.
O Mary, we submit to you as the Patroness of our beloved country. O Mary, Help of Christians, enfold the Holy Father and the Catholic Church within your protective cloak; be our shield in the days ahead. Give to the Church true holiness and freedom. Obtain for our leaders holy zeal, the ability to face the truth, and the courage to correct all abuses. Stop the flood of atheism, greed, heresy, impurity, lukewarmness, materialism, and selfishness that threaten our nation. Show to those who have strayed from the Church the way to Our Lord Jesus Christ. Mother of God, accept our personal consecration to you and, through you, bind us forever to the Holy Trinity. Gather us all into your Immaculate Heart and unite us forever with Jesus. O Mary, we love you. Amen."

The following link is related to nothing on this thread:
Refurbishing the Soul by Sr. Ursula of Trinidad
It is a RealPlayer file in audio, and it is the sort of very basic thing that I find refreshing from time to time. Sr. Ursula is also called Sr. Babsie in Trinidad. She is much loved and respected.

Nice poem! My little kids always think of picking a bouquet of flowers for the blessed Mother when we say the Rosary.

Very nice thought. I will say one for a return to the Traditional Faith and the Traditional Mass. These two monumental changes would bring the necessary Grace from the Holy Spirit that would heal and restore the Church. Everything else is just window dressing.

Reading these prayers, I am just thinking about how isolated some of our priests are and the grief many of the faithful priests must be going through. It's important to reach out to them in support. We have been so very blessed through the ministry of our good priests. Today our family was invited to join others to prepare homecooked meals for seminarians who are home from studies and who come together during the summer to take part in various parish ministries. We're going to do this and join them for the meal we prepare. It will be a good way to get to know our future priests.

First Vigil Prayer of USCCB in Dallas:
Go to the pdf link above for exactly what the Bishops are saying. I can not seem to copy it from the pdf file.
Psalms
Chapter 51
Miserere Mei, Deus
- 1
- 1 For the leader. A psalm of David,
- 2
- when Nathan the prophet came to him after his affair with Bathsheba.
- 3
- Have mercy on me, God, in your goodness; in your abundant compassion blot out my offense.
- 4
- Wash away all my guilt; from my sin cleanse me.
- 5
- For I know my offense; my sin is always before me.
- 6
- Against you alone have I sinned; I have done such evil in your sight That you are just in your sentence, blameless when you condemn.
- 7
- 2 True, I was born guilty, a sinner, even as my mother conceived me.
- 8
- Still, you insist on sincerity of heart; in my inmost being teach me wisdom.
- 9
- 3 Cleanse me with hyssop, that I may be pure; wash me, make me whiter than snow.
- 10
- Let me hear sounds of joy and gladness; let the bones you have crushed rejoice.
- 11
- Turn away your face from my sins; blot out all my guilt.
- 12
- A clean heart create for me, God; renew in me a steadfast spirit.
- 13
- Do not drive me from your presence, nor take from me your holy spirit.
- 14
- Restore my joy in your salvation; sustain in me a willing spirit.
- 15
- I will teach the wicked your ways, that sinners may return to you.
- 16
- Rescue me from death, God, my saving God, that my tongue may praise your healing power.
- 17
- Lord, open my lips; my mouth will proclaim your praise.
- 18
- 4 For you do not desire sacrifice; a burnt offering you would not accept.
- 19
- My sacrifice, God, is a broken spirit; God, do not spurn a broken, humbled heart.
- 20
- 5 Make Zion prosper in your good pleasure; rebuild the walls of Jerusalem.
- 21
- Then you will be pleased with proper sacrifice, burnt offerings and holocausts; then bullocks will be offered on your altar.

Ping to first Vigil Prayer of the Bishops in #51
Second Psalm and other Vigil Prayers and Readings will follow.
I am only going to ping you once a day on this.
To: Lady in Blue
Could you please post the schedule (I think I saw it on another thread last night.) you found and post it here also? That way, we can all still be praying while reading and meditating about what the Bishops are doing. Would appreciate it greatly.

Thank you for the ping - I have to sign off, but I'll be saying the rosary as well, with you guys in spirit. Rita - wonderful post about the majority of our blessed priests. If they did not make the sacrifice they did, we would have no Sacrifice. Thank God for them.

Second Psalm
Invocation: De profundis
Psalms
Chapter 130
- 1
- 1 A song of ascents. 2 Out of the depths I call to you, LORD;
- 2
- Lord, hear my cry! May your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy.
- 3
- If you, LORD, mark our sins, Lord, who can stand?
- 4
- 3 But with you is forgiveness and so you are revered.
- 5
- I wait with longing for the LORD, my soul waits for his word.
- 6
- My soul looks for the Lord more than sentinels for daybreak. More than sentinels for daybreak,
- 7
- let Israel look for the LORD, For with the LORD is kindness, with him is full redemption,
- 8
- And God will redeem Israel from all their sins.
Remember to click on the link in #53 becuase the words do not exactly match.
