I wanted to ask for your prayers.
I am going to have surgery on Wednesday May 8th to remove a tumor that is wrapped around my lower spine. The surgery promises to be very long. I've had chemo which has shrunk the tumor considerably. What I need now is for Jesus to guide the surgeon's hands.
Please also say a prayer for my wife and family. Christ bless you all.

So glad to hear the surgery went well, and that your Dad is in recovery. May the good Lord bless and keep him, and give him greater strength each day!

Hi,I've been thinking about you, your Dad and the family. I hope HM is starting to feel better, can you give us an update? In any case, you all are in my prayers.
I liked your Dad's funny little remark about who is not the president, never too sick to miss a "teaching moment".God Bless.

My father continues to improve. He had a rough night because of pain and inadequate pain relief. But that was corrected and he is resting this morning. God bless you for all of your prayers. I treasure them.

I posted this on another thread earlier today but forgot to put it here:
He was moved from ICU on Tuesday to a stepdown unit, and then to a regular room this morning. I'll be going up after lunch to see him. He really is doing wonderfully. They were worried in the ICU and the stepdown unit that something was wrong with him because they thought he was speaking gibberish. It turns out he was praying the Rosary in Gaelic while drifting in and out of sleep!
I've been to see him today, and I think he looks very tired from being moved. But he smiled a great smile when I read him some of the messages from FReepers. I talked with his oncologist who told me that they are very impressed with how well he is doing and that they are very suprised that the tumor was encapsulated.
