The Neverending Story
An ongoing debate on Scripture, Tradition, History and Interpretation.

Statesmen may plan and speculate for liberty, but it is religion and morality alone which can establish the principles upon which freedom can securely stand. The only foundation of a free constitution is pure virtue. - John Adams

Are you by any chance Quester. He hasn't been around and your posts look like his did? Just curious:)

Good work inspector Becky, we need to keep you around to keep everyone straight. Lol

Tell us, do you have any premonitions about SD?

Whisper the answer, no one else is listening. :-)

Actually, I think there are times one should go to the doctor. But I also think you better be very informed, and ready to tell a doctor NO.

I agree completely. Unfortunately, when I had my first back operation there was no way to check on the credentials of a Doctor. I even checked with the Massachusetts Medical Society and learned that he was "A surgeon in good standing". (Code words="he still has a license".

Now I can go on the internet and sometimes be more current than the doctor.

I have fired Doctors and quit HMO's because of inadequate care.

Of course, I have fired all the HMO's and am now limited to Medicare. (At least I can choose my own Doctor). I use Medicare for my medicals and the VA for drugs. It is working for me.

I really don't want to get into an indepth discussion on this topic, (and I will only discuss this with you), I think the word "trinity" is just a word that modern man has attached to a concept that the early church understood. There is evidence in scripture, Thomas' remark, for instance, that they knew Jesus was God, they knew the HS was God, they also knew there was only 1 God. So rather they had a label for the concept or not, they still understood God the Father, Son, and HG as all being ONE God.

I find it odd that everyone always says the trinity is so hard to understand, maybe I'm not a deep enough thinker, but it doesn't seem that hard to me.

Think of an egg; shell, white, yolk, 3 parts all egg.

Think of the sun: physical ball in the sky, the light and heat coming from the sun, 3 parts all sun.

It's like being able to tell works from fruit, cause one is motivated by the HS and the other isn't. It's a special gift given to believers.

So your answer is, YES, you could tell the difference just by looking at them?

And if we don't recognize this idea, we are guilty for the Lord's Body and Blood?

If you can't touch it, feel it, or taste it, you must rely on nothing but an idea.

My premonition about Dave is:

we're going to get him yet:)

Don't know how to whisper.

Always get a second opinion when the matter is serious. My daughter also has some hearing loss from the ear tubes. Luckily, it is only minor. But look on the good side. When you get old and useless, just go to the doctor. You can depend on them to kill you.

I rely upon my mind to understand an idea, yes. But the idea is that there is something really present that I need to recognize.

I am not discerning a concept or an idea. I am discerning the Body and Blood that are truly present.

I'm lost. What was your question again that you say the OSAS crowd is not answering?

Short version please:)

Just having fun cause I havent' been told how one tells the difference between fruit and works.

My answer is no. I would, if in doubt, simply consume both of them and let God sort it out.

If Thomas had been wrong when he looked at the risen Savior and said, "My Lord and my God" wouldn't Jesus have corrected him. And don't tell me that is not what Thomas meant:).

Without arguing what Thomas meant there are at 11 more Apostles, not to mention many Disciples, and we must ask what these other Apostles/Disciples had to say on the matter.

What was your question again that you say the OSAS crowd is not answering?

Somebody (snerkel?) said that "Works" were bad and "Fruits" were good. And that we had to judge people based on their fruits and not their works.

He also said that works and fruits can appear the same, except one is motivated by the HS and the other isn't.

So I asked how we are supposed to judge if we can't tell the difference without knowing what is motivating a person.

I dont' expect you to answer it, cause it isn't your words.

My sons ears actually turned out OK. The problem was the day they operated on him they got behind in the operating rooms. They already had him sleeping, so they just kept giving him anasthesia, till they could get him in. They ODed him, he had to be put on a respirator for a bit. Of course I was not told about this till the next day.

Then we can assume both Mark and Mike are saved, and let God sort it out?

X-rays couldn't be see or sensed in any way for most of history. But since about 1890 we know about them. The message of the doctrine of the 2nd coming is that at some point in time we SHALL see Him.
