Char Brodersen, a grandson of [Chuck] Smith, read a statement during the Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa service on Nov. 1, saying the church “believes and practices the ordination of both men and women to pastoral ministry as a recognition of the priesthood of all believers and the unique gifting of individuals by the Holy Spirit to continue the mission and ministry of Jesus in the Church and in the world.”

Thank you very much and God bless you.

If only there were a church that belived in Holy Tradition. "So then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the traditions that you were taught by us, either by our spoken word or by our letter." (2 Thessalonians 2:15)

There are many denoms that don’t allow female preachers.

When that whole “Calvary Chapel” fad started it put up some red flags for me. Seemed “fluffy” and shallow. It was big in SoCal 20+ years ago.

Women pastors... God said don’t do it, yet ...

“Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.” I Cor. 14:34

And those who don’t allow women pastors are the smart ones.

I guess the Apostle Paul didn’t repeat himself often enough in his various epistles on this subject.

8 I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;

10 But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.

11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.

12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve.

14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

15 Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.

If only there were a church that belived in Holy Tradition. "So then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the traditions that you were taught by us, either by our spoken word or by our letter." (2 Thessalonians 2:15)

Tell that to your liberal Leo Pope, while that Calvary Chapel pastor is going against SCripture, which, unlike leadership - which is your supreme authority- it never changes and goes South.

For indeed, your premise of oral tradition being equal with Scripture is actually based upon the self-proclaimed premise that your leadership is effectively the supreme authority, For according to Rome, the Word of God, written and oral, only authoritatively consists of and means what she says.

For Rome has "infallibly" declare she is and will be perpetually infallible whenever she speaks in accordance with her infallibly defined (scope and subject-based criteria: pope or ecumenical councils in union w/ him defining a matter of faith and morals for the whole church). Which means that her declaration (Pastor Aeternus) itself that she is infallible, is infallible, as well as all else she accordingly declares, past, present and future. She also essentially presumes protection from at least salvific error in non-infallible magisterial teaching on faith and morals.

Thus, to avoid circularity in her apologetics,

“it should be premised that when we appeal to the Scriptures for proof of the Church's infallible authority we appeal to them merely as reliable historical sources, and abstract altogether from their inspiration.” - Catholic Encyclopedia>Infallibility)
And
Catholic doctrine, as authoritatively proposed by the Church, should be held as the supreme law; for, seeing that the same God is the author both of the Sacred Books and of the doctrine committed to the Church…(Providentissimus Deus)Pope Leo XIII)
It follows that the Church is essentially an unequal society, that is, a society comprising two categories of per sons, the Pastors and the flock...the one duty of the multitude is to allow themselves to be led, and, like a docile flock, to follow the Pastors. - VEHEMENTER NOS, an Encyclical of Pope Pius X promulgated on February 11, 1906.
Thus your "Living magisterium" defines what past RC teaching means, resulting in divisions.

As one poster wryly summed it,

The last time the church imposed its judgment in an authoritative manner on "areas of legitimate disagreement," the conservative Catholics became the Sedevacantists and the Society of St. Pius X, the moderate Catholics became the conservatives, the liberal Catholics became the moderates, and the folks who were excommunicated, silenced, refused Catholic burial, etc. became the liberals. The event that brought this shift was Vatican II; conservatives then couldn't handle having to actually obey the church on matters they were uncomfortable with, so they left. ” - Nathan, https://christopherblosser.wordpress.com/2005/05/16/fr-michael-orsi-on-different-levels-of-catholic-teaching (original http://www.ratzingerfanclub.com/blog/2005/05/fr-michael-orsi-on-different-levels-of.html)

And as your leadership goes south, so do those who follow them. And it has gone Left, as it manifestly considers even proabortion, prohomosexual public figures as being members in life and in death (showing the Vatican's understanding of canon law)

However, as regards the premise of Oral Tradition being the word of God, while men such as the apostles could speak and write as wholly inspired of God and also provide new public revelation thereby (in conflation with what had been written), neither popes nor councils can (nor do) claim to do.

Meanwhile those who strongly esteemed the Bible as being the sure, supreme, substantive, accurate and authoritative word of God, classic "evangelicals," have long attested to being the most conservative unified large religious group (at least in the West) in key basic values and fundamental beliefs . Including being the most conservative voting block for decades

To the contrary, women pastors are not what the NT church taught, nor OT Scripture.

See ARE WOMEN PASTORS BIBLICAL? , by the grace of God.
