Beloved, an image in today's world is worth a million words! The two most neglected individuals of the seven-year tribulation period are the Two Witnesses of Revelation! What absolutely blows my mind is how many great end-time pre-trib dispensational teachers leave these two out of the end-times equation and totally minimize them!
The two most neglected individuals of the seven-year tribulation period are the Two Witnesses of Revelation!
These two will absolutely dominate the first half of the seven-year tribulation from Israel and be a Divine global firewall and hindrance to the Prince of Daniel 9:27 (Rev. 11).
Who are they? Check out Dr. Whitcomb's cutting-edge biblical insight from years back.
The Kingdom of Heaven is truly at hand! Maranatha!

I agree with the common and ancient understanding that the two witnesses are Enoch and Elias (Elijah), neither who are reported to have died in Holy Scripture.

The Two Witnesses...
.
They have a very intense Ministry.
Thanks.
Nine very crowded images at source.
I believe the two witnesses are Moses with whose body was contended by Micheal the archangel and in dispute (Jude 9), and Elijah of whom a death was never recorded before going to heaven (2 Ki. 2:11).
I believe the saints might see these two coming down from heaven while they are taken up to heaven (1 Th. 4:17).
The two winesses, preaching repentence to the world, are a sign of God’s mercy mixed with his wrath upon the earth for the first half of the seven-year tribulation AKA Daniel’s 70th week (Dan. 9:24-27). Except for fire coming out of their mouths, both witnesses have the same works Moses and Elijah did while they were on earth (Rev. 11:6).
Can you imagine the difficulty in leaving heaven, lo, these many millenia and going back down to earth knowing you would be killed? Much grace is upon these two.
The mention of the two witnesses in Rev 11
3 And I will appoint my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth.”
—> note 1260 days = 42 months = 3.5 years. This exactly matches the duration of the 67 AD to 70 AD Roman siege of Jerusalem
. 8 Their bodies will lie in the public square of the great city—which is figuratively called Sodom and Egypt—where also their Lord was crucified.
—> the Lord was crucified in Jerusalem
11 But after the three and a half days the breath
—> 3.5. well here it says days,
The two witnesses are the Law and the prophets —> the two elements of the Tanakh alongside “the Writings” — and they are represented by Moses (Law) and Elijah (Prophets)
Jim — 1 Thess 4 says nothing about “ see these two coming down from heaven while they are taken up “
- note also WHY they rise up — to greet the Lord who is on His way to earth. WHY? Because when the king would come to a city, the townspeople would come OUT to greet Him and accompany Him back to the city.
- you rise up, greet the King and come back with Him to His city
1 Gentile, one Jewish.
Enoch goes back so far that there were no Jews as such, yet.
