🇺🇸Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem🇮🇱 (10/20/26)[Prayer]

Personalities
Psalm 59[a]
For the director of music. To the tune of “Do Not Destroy.” Of David. A miktam.[b] When Saul had sent men to watch David’s house in order to kill him.
1 Deliver me from my enemies, O God;
be my fortress against those who are attacking me.
2 Deliver me from evildoers
and save me from those who are after my blood.
3 See how they lie in wait for me!
Fierce men conspire against me
for no offense or sin of mine, Lord.
4 I have done no wrong, yet they are ready to attack me.
Arise to help me; look on my plight!
5 You, Lord God Almighty,
you who are the God of Israel,
rouse yourself to punish all the nations;
show no mercy to wicked traitors.[c]
6 They return at evening,
snarling like dogs,
and prowl about the city.
7 See what they spew from their mouths—
the words from their lips are sharp as swords,
and they think, “Who can hear us?”
8 But you laugh at them, Lord;
you scoff at all those nations.
9 You are my strength, I watch for you;
you, God, are my fortress,
10 my God on whom I can rely.
God will go before me
and will let me gloat over those who slander me.
11 But do not kill them, Lord our shield,[d]
or my people will forget.
In your might uproot them
and bring them down.
12 For the sins of their mouths,
for the words of their lips,
let them be caught in their pride.
For the curses and lies they utter,
13 consume them in your wrath,
consume them till they are no more.
Then it will be known to the ends of the earth
that God rules over Jacob.
14 They return at evening,
snarling like dogs,
and prowl about the city.
15 They wander about for food
and howl if not satisfied.
16 But I will sing of your strength,
in the morning I will sing of your love;
for you are my fortress,
my refuge in times of trouble.
17 You are my strength, I sing praise to you;
you, God, are my fortress,
my God on whom I can rely.

Praise You, Lord!
How good it is to sing praises to You,
For You Are Gracious,
And a song of praise is fitting.
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,

We've looked at Psalms many times on this Thread, and they are a beloved section of Scripture for many people. Both Christians and Jews pray the Psalms, and the whole Book is often attached to the Gospels and New Testament. I often go back and read what insights the Lord has given me over the years with regard to the Psalms. Sometimes I share those again, if it seems like the story is still relevant. That's why some of my stories may sound familiar. Some of them are pretty unbelievable, but, if I'm making up a story, I say so. Then it becomes a Parable. Jesus told true stories and parables, both of which always illustrated an important Truth. Usually, if the story included details such as Names, Locations, and a Moment in Time, they were true stories. A parable, on the other hand, usually started with a "Figure of Speech" such as a simile or a metaphor; like this:
"The Kingdom of Heaven is like a mustard seed..."
The opening line tells us that this is a parable.
The following is a NOT a Parable, but a true story I wrote when we looked at this Psalm many years ago:
Forty years ago, I worked in a Christian Book Store. The store also sold Record Albums, Church Supplies, and Sunday School Materials. While the most popular framed picture for Sunday School walls was that of a Traditional Jesus Blessing the Children, there was another picture that caused some controversy, and even a bit of derision. It was a modern portrait of Jesus LAUGHING. The conservatives didn't like it because they thought it was "disrespectful", and the liberals didn't like it because they thought it was "corny".
While both side maybe had a point, the truth is that Jesus had a sense of humor. Many times, when engaged in a debate with a skeptic or a Pharisee, Jesus would say something ironic and genuinely funny that would leave the questioner speechless. The first time I read the Gospels all the way though, I actually had to stop once in a while to have a good laugh over some zinger that Jesus said that would stop a heckler in his tracks. It was the first century equivalent to a "Mike Drop".
OK, you may say, Jesus may have laughed, because He was Fully God and Fully Man. The Human part of Him would certainly be able to laugh, but what about the God of the Old Testament? Surely, He would never be caught laughing.
And yet, in at least two places God does laugh. The first instance is in Psalm 2, and the second is in this Psalm. Both times, God is Laughing, but not at a funny joke or an ironic turn of a phrase. In both Psalms God is Laughing AT his enemies, who are our enemies as well. It is not at evil that God laughs, but at the hubris of the enemy and the enemy's grandiose delusions of power. The enemy may be smart, but God is Omniscient. The enemy may be powerful, but God is Omnipotent. The enemy be be able to get around, but God is Omnipresent. There is no comparison. We KNOW Who will win in the end.
And that's no joke.
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open. (Mark 4:22)
God Bless America.
Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.
Hallelujah and Amen

In the series “The Chosen” there are many times where Jesus jokes with his disciples and/or a person he may have just healed; and when the person(s) are shocked/surprised at His comment, he’ll retort, “just kidding” or “too soon?” It really showed Jesus’s human side.

Psalm 91
1 You who live in the shelter of the Most High,
who abide in the shadow of the Almighty,*
2 will say to the Lord, ‘My refuge and my fortress;
my God, in whom I trust.’
3 For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler
and from the deadly pestilence;
4 he will cover you with his pinions,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
5 You will not fear the terror of the night,
or the arrow that flies by day,
6 or the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
or the destruction that wastes at noonday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
8 You will only look with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.
9 Because you have made the Lord your refuge,*
the Most High your dwelling-place,
10 no evil shall befall you,
no scourge come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways.
12 On their hands they will bear you up,
so that you will not dash your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the adder,
the young lion and the serpent you will trample under foot.
14 Those who love me, I will deliver;
I will protect those who know my name.
15 When they call to me, I will answer them;
I will be with them in trouble,
I will rescue them and honour them.
16 With long life I will satisfy them,
and show them my salvation.

That’s the common perception!
But once I really got into the Word of God, 45 years ago and counting, I realized that it’s a distortion of what we call “Reverence”.
