Pope Leo XIV appointed Irish Sister Mary Teresa Barron on October 8, as president of the Pontifical Mission Societies (Missio) and adjunct secretary of the Vatican's Dicastery for Evangelization.
On October 19, she told EWTNNews.com: “Who am I to say whether the door is open or closed to women priests?”
“Women today may hear the call to priesthood,” she said. “So for me, itʼs how do we within Church facilitate that discernment?”
Sister Barron wants the Church to accompany women who feel "called to the priesthood", “What do we do as a Church to accompany that discernment to see if, yes, this is what the Spirit is calling the entire Church to or not at this point?” she asked.
Barron cited the October 2024 Synod on Synodality's final document: “What comes from the Holy Spirit cannot be stopped.”
“So I think even though … there have been moments where we’ve been told we canʼt talk about this at all, itʼs over … it comes back and it comes back,” she said. “So I think the Spirit will guide us even if we say we canʼt talk about it now. I think at another moment itʼll probably come up again.”
“The Spirit will guide us to when and if the time is right,” she said, referring to "allowing" women’s ordination.

Pope St. John Paul II already said it for you.
The answer is:
"CLOSED!!!"
Paraphrasing Plato wrt those wanting public office:
Any woman merely expressing a desire for the priesthood is automatically disqualified.
Am I alone in noticing that heretics refer to "the spirit" rather than "the Holy Spirit" or even "the Holy Ghost"? It's almost like they're hiding something.
I guess Plato got there before me ...
But over the years I have observed that those women who clamor most loudly for admission to Holy Orders are those most blatantly unfit for them.
Two questions:
1) Do you believe that the risen Christ calls men to the priesthood?
2) If yes, why do you believe His call to a woman cannot be true?
Now, I would be the first to say that the female priesthood in Western Anglican-descended churches has been, on the whole, harmful. There are logical arguments against it.
My question is not about those discussions among humans. My question is, what do you believe about the Lord and what He can or cannot do?
It only took one pope to destroy Catholicism. It’s over, done, gone. The last cool popes made it their purpose to destroy the church and surrender to islam.
I’ve observed that women who clamor most loudly for admission
to Holy Orders are those most blatantly unfit for them.
You’re very observant.
Does that call come from our Risen Lord Jesus Christ ...
Or does it come from the Serpent of Eden ...
To remove all doubt as to where I stand: I believe that the "call" these women think they're hearing comes either from their own imaginations, or that it comes from the pit of Hell.
The "spirit" these heretics are listening to is evil.
Paragraph 1577 of the Catechism of the Catholic Church establishes that only a baptized man (Latin: vir) validly receives sacred ordination. This teaching is grounded in the belief that Jesus Christ chose men (viri) to form the college of the twelve apostles, a choice the Church recognizes as binding.
The paragraph further explains that the college of bishops, united with priests in the priesthood, ensures that this apostolic college remains an ever-present and ever-active reality until Christ’s return. This sacramental theology emphasizes the continuity of the Church’s hierarchical structure and its fidelity to the Lord’s original selection.
And yes, KBJ and the trans-crowd to the contrary notwithstanding, we DO know what a woman is.
Holy Baptism is the foundation of the entire Christian life and the gateway to life in the Spirit, serving as the door to all other sacraments. Through this sacrament, individuals are freed from all sin (both original and personal), reborn as children of God, and incorporated into the Church as members of Christ’s Body.
The grace of baptism confers sanctifying grace, enabling the recipient to live by the theological virtues and share in Christ’s priestly, prophetic, and royal mission. It imprints an indelible spiritual mark (character) on the soul, signifying permanent belonging to Christ; because of this, baptism is given once for all and cannot be repeated.
While the Church teaches that baptism is necessary for salvation for those who have heard the Gospel, it also recognizes baptism of blood (martyrdom) and baptism of desire (explicit longing for baptism with repentance and charity) as means by which those unable to receive the sacrament can still attain salvation.
Are you Catholic? I ask because, among other things, we recognize “ONE Baptism for the forgiveness of sins” ... so your question doesn’t really make sense.
Also, please read the thread title carefully ...
